So we are looking at a really bad week here on the (not so) sunny Gulf coast. Right smack dab in the middle of the "cone of uncertainty", but we have never had a direct hit. We do, however, always end up on the east side of the storm. The latest models are calling for a NOLA landfall. I don't want to wish it on anyone, but that works for me. ;)

Stocked up with sandwich and snack supplies, 2-5 gal water coolers ready to fill, getting ice Sunday or Monday, and tomorrow I will begin obsessively recharging my batts after 5 minutes of use. 3 sets for my I pro will last about 3 days, so there should be no problems there.

I may end up working through the storm, which would mean an endless supply of power. Definitely wouldn't have to worry about my batteries then. :D

Anyway, I know I'm not alone in waiting for Isaac, so I thought I would start a thread for my fellow beach bums. Who else is in the line of fire?

Hmmm, kiwi, no passthrough, but I can charge my one surviving ego in the car. If it looks like it may come down to it, I can save my i pro batts to use while the ego charges and depend primarily on the ego. We are never without power long though. Our power company really does do an awesome job busting .... as soon as the storm is over.

Oh, Eric, you poor misguided Tiger. Come November it is so on. ;)

Yup that is right Hawkeye, in Hollywood sometimes we would go down to the beach and watch it ha... Good times.

Where I work, lots of coworkers have never lived in FL before they're here now. I always tell them that unless they see me getting nervous ... don't worry. Funny that tho ... tomorrow I'm driving up to GA ... but not avoiding storm. Got family stuff going on. I'm actually on the hurricane ride out crew at work, so if a storm really comes this way ... I'm on duty for securing stuff down etc etc.

I'm a native so I know how it goes. I was a bit scared though during Andrew in 92 considering I was 13. If it was just a few miles north Broward would of seen what Homestead did.

I should edit that pic and change the cigarette bit to charge the batteries or such. I remember in 04 when Frances or Jeanne came through .. it was miserable. I came || close to actually running out of cigarettes. Now I have 4 eGo batteries, 2 batteries for my VTube, and a USB adapter for my car to charge anything.

The only thing I'm making sure to do before I leave for GA is put all the plants at ground level so they don't blow over. Thursday we had a strong summer storm move through and one of my plants fell down hard and shattered it's pot and broke some limbs. Plant salvaged ... and now in a plastic pot. Limbs are now in glasses of water to see if they'll root out. Would be cool to have some more pepper plants. They're a beautiful deep green with white flowers and peppers that grow from green to a rich red color. (And taste yummy as well)

Not worried...... yet. The weather channel moves that cone around so Home Depot & Lowes can sell more stuff. We wont have a clear picture for a bit.

A conspiracy theory... I like you already.

I just want to know if I am spending this time at home or at work. Looks like I may not know that until late Monday. :/

Vero Beach here, East coast. We went through Fran and Jean in 07. Broke my arm 3 days prior to Fran. Because of pending hurricanes, couldn't have surgery for 8 days past Jean. Anyone else ever try to put up plywood with a broken arm in only a splint?

This mornings forecast looks like we will probably get tropical storm conditions only. We can only hope. My ac/dc inverter should keep PV's up and running.
