The other night I totaled my car hitting a deer. Now we are short a car and I have to go 35 miles from home Monday threw Thursday and sit in a lounge at the college while my son has classes for the next 4 months. There is no e cig use allowed on the whole campus. I can't afford gas to drive all over killing time for 16 hours a week so here I sit nicking to death until he gets out of class. I snuck a few stealth vapes in the bathroom a bit ago but was a bit scared of getting caught. I try and be respectful but :shock:oh man I need my fix:shock: I am so glad I don't have a job. I don't know how people go that long without smoking or vaping. I haven't even went to very many movies in the last 15 years because I couldn't smoke or vape. I now know for sure I will never be taking any college classes here!

Sounds like you have a real problem :)

Vaping in the bathroom isnt usually a problem. keep the clouds small and double inhale if you want. Use a mild / non tobacco flavor so people don't think your 'smoking' in there.

Take your car and go park off campus..? Not sure about the views in Iowa, but you can always people watch and listen to the radio. I dont know, maybe your a talker.. grab a park bench and chat with someone.

It's probably really cold up in Iowa right now, but as it warms up, you could always go for a walk off campus. What do the smokers do? I cant imagine people going all day without cigarettes.

I guess if you REALLY need your fix theres always Nic Gum... but it would probably taste better to just chew on the cigarettes...

Whatever you figure out - good luck!

I would drop him off at the door of the building and then sit in my car with my e-cig reading an e-book lol I really doubt they're going to send campus police to your car to bust you for vaping in it. If they do you can just say "Oh sorry. Didn't know."

Be careful sneaking one indoors though I just saw another thread where someone said they can set off a smoke alarm!

Do you get Swedish Snus in USA? I don't know THAT much about it, used it once or twice when I was still smoking ciggies if I had a long train ride or something. It must be frustrating though, I can't imagine not being able to vape freely.

Yeppers you can get Swedish snus in the U.S. Here's some a forum to ask questions if anyone is interested Smokeless tobacco
Dana A: Sorry you're having such a hard time :( Hope things start looking up.

He is a good driver but we live in a small town and I don't think he is quite comfortable driving the highway that far yet. That may be my fault. I am a coddler of a mom and never really let him drive much on the highway. His car just met an untimely death threw electrical problems a few months back. He has to take 3 different highways to get there. He has never had a ticket or anything and got his license at 16 but he is my 1st born. I need to let go I know but I just want him to be safe. We didn't carry full coverage ins. My van was 15 years old. Not a huge loss but there wasn't a thing wrong with it. I would have driven it 10 more years if it held up. We will get by. I was just going crazy when I posted LOL. It's been below 0 here a lot lately so I don't want to sit in my car with it running for 4 hours a day. Once it warms up I can go to the dog park and hang out for a lot of the time with my fur children.

I have such a hard time riding on the highway with someone else driving. I need to let him drive all next week and then start letting him take my car. People drive like idiots around here I swear. I am so afraid something will happen to him. I just feel like if he is a few years older before he starts traveling all over on the highway he will have more experience and be able to react better to bad situations. I had always wondered if I would react correctly if I was faced with hitting a deer. I now know I will. I just braced the steering wheel slowly braked and hit that ***** head on. Then I made it to the next exit and pulled off. Once I saw the damage I nearly had a heart attack. I had to boot scoot home because my grill was in my radiator and my radiator was pushed back a bit. If it were up to me I would have paid whatever it was to fix my van but my husband put his foot down. I am one of those people who will buy a car and drive it till 3 or 4 different people tell me it's finished. I like nice things but don't need to keep up with the latest. Like how many people want a new phone every time their battery stops holding a charge. I will buy a new battery and keep the phone I have. I just get attached to my stuff I guess. I brought my daughter home from the hospital in my now wrecked van :(

Gosh Dana, sounds like you've had a few days from Hell! The headline on your post surely got my attention, and when I read it, I agree. All that would drive anyone insane!

My kids are older now, thank goodness, but I can certainly relate to your protectiveness. We live in a large metro area with heavy traffic and I spent lots of anxious moments when my kids were out and about.

Funny thing, our youngest daughter, who is married now with kids of her own, absolutely did not want to learn to drive. Her 16th birthday came and went, then 18 and then 20! She went to a local college, and I actually was dropping her off and picking her up every day for quite a while. She didn't get her license until after she married at age 21.

Now she has 7 children to chauffeur around and drives a huge 12 passenger Sprinter van as big as a Fed Ex Truck!:)

Coddler too.

If he's not ready to drive, I wouldn't push him.
