Going stag to Vapercon

Hey fellow vapers. So, I live an hour north of Richmond, and I REALLY want to go to VaperCon. Last year I got so excited, posted how I couldn't wait, and ended up having to work. Well this year, i'm off both days, and not going to work if they offer me $500 just to show up! But the thing is, in 2 years of vaping, I've only met 1 vaper. Over a year ago, in another state, LOL!

I really want to go, but feel like it will be weird just showing up at this thing by myself, not knowing anybody, what to do or even where to go once i'm there.

So what are your thoughts? I'm not asocial or anything, quite the opposite actually, I just feel weird not knowing anybody, and feel like once I walked in the door I would be like "Okay....now what do I do?". So, what are your thoughts? Did anybody else that has been to a major vape meet find yourselves in the same situation? Not knowing anybody? I've never been to a vape meet, and besides random videos i've seen from different youtube folk, I have no idea what to really expect!

I will be in your situation as well. Unless I can convince a friend of mine to go with me. I am not worried about it. I tend to find a group and just fit in. My wife teases me that I can talk to a wall.

Nice avatar BTW. Seen Wilson lately? I saw Phish play in Hampton and was treated to a trampoline jam during YEM. It was a great night.

Hah, what show was that? Was that their comeback run in March 2009? Yeah, I have come forward to admit I have a problem. I am hopelessly addicted.....to Phish!

I wasn't lucky enough to get tickets for the come back. It was years before that. Can't really remember exactly when. Troubled past and all that. I do remember that show though. Trampoline jam and the vaccuum was played. Phish just can't be explained. You have to see it to understand it.

I'll definitely be there! Yeah, the Mothership (Hampton) is considered one of the best venues to see Phish. One of my favorite shows is their 98 Hampton show. It's a shame the rep many uneducated people give Phish, "Oh that stoner band" or "That hippy band" when Phish is without a doubt, one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.

Oh, and don't feel bad, 3 of my best friends all got tickets for every night, while I was stuck at home streaming the shows, LOL! Trey is probably one of the greatest guitarists alive, for anybody that doesn't believe me, check this out, and skip to 3:39 if you don't want to hear the song even though it's some great ol' rock and roll!



SORRY, Getting off topic, the topic of Phish just makes me so excited!

Great memories. Possum was one of my favs. Everyone one I hung out with took to calling me Runaway Jim since that is my name. I even thought about getting a vanity tag for my car RNAWY JM. I am considering doing it yet again since you have relit that spark.

These guys are pure genius. Their live shows are something you have to see to believe. Thank you SOOOOO much for bringing back so many good memories. No matter what the critics say, Trey and Co. are simply one of the best live jam bands in existence.

The critics are people talking out of their, well...you know what's, who have never actually listened to them. And yes, a lot of people will check them out by listening to their CD's, which for most people would be the only way they consider. NOPE! They are just too much to be able to contain to an album, live it must be for the real deal! Ahhhh you are making me even more excited for VaporCon! I'm setting a few hundred bucks out of my next paycheck to buy as many juices and goodies as I possibly can afford!! Woooo Phish and vaping, doesn't get any better!

I was wondering that too. All I could find is that saturday night there will be a costume contest, which makes it sound like it will be running pretty late into the night? I'm not sure, i'll try to send a message to somebody thats involved in putting it on and find out.

I just posted up a tread asking what time it starts, someone told me they thought thet heard 2:00 on Friday but wasnt sure about Saturday? Im live in Richmond and will probably be giving the Hotel a call soon to see if they know more details about the hours.

Friday October 12th the main event room will be open from 2:00pm to 2:00am

Saturday October 13th the main event room will be open from 1:00pm to 2:00am

I'm not able to go unfortunately, but I'm sure there will be plenty of people that are stag. It's rare that aside from here I see a vapor in the wild (aside from out local group who found each other on here and converted others). So... just get in there... most people there unless they've convinced someone to come with them are in the same boat. If they're not, well, then... you're a fellow vaper, therefor interesting and worth talking to. Relax, you'll be fine. If you're an hour away from hundreds of vapors and vendors and great stuff to see, try, taste, and you DON'T go...... well, then we need to start a fund to get someone to come beat your .... purple.

Hah, last year when I ended up having to work the one day I had off it was running, I was being kind of a jerk to people at work(which is the complete opposite of me!) because I was in such a bad mood about missing it! Hahaha.

The wallets will definitely be in pain after Vapercon! Oh well!! Make sure you guys come say hi! I'll be there with Vaperfexion. Wearing a t-shirt that says it, and most likely equipped with a Sam Adams Octoberfest at all times!

No reason not to show up. Thursday night there will be some folks meeting at the Clarion for a pre-party type deal, otherwise don't be afraid to stroll up and say hello. Everyone shows up stag basically, the community is extremely friendly and lord knows you have a common ground to stand on and start conversations with. Enjoy, vape, drink, and be merry.
