Going to try 510, What do you think?

Okay here is my situation. I bought an Encore starting kit from the cig store a month ago. I was getting ripped off finally figured out someone at store was vaping the cartomizers at the store and re-shelfing them for sale. I was okay with the product but not real satisfied even with a full cartomizer. Long story short I am looking for a kit that will give me great vapor and flavor. I don't care if there is a button or not, I don't care if it looks like a pen or cig. Size does not matter. I like the cartomizer but willing to try 3 piece. I am a little worried about self filling heard horror stories about nicotine poisoning. I only want cig flavor not interested in cherry, vanilla etc... I do care about battery life as I am a heavier smoker. So please let me know what you think, I have about $100 towards new kit. So 510 or is there something better? Thanks sorry so long winded

For moving up I'd go with an ego They have long batt life and you can use either carts or 510 cartomizers on them

If you want a long lasting battery and don't mind that it's a little bigger your better off going with an EGO or Riva. I started with the 510 and I love it, it does have it's place but the batteries do not last very long.

Ego 1000 mAh or Riva 1100mAh, if your a heavy smoker you will enjoy a long charge on these without the hassle of having to keep plugging them in to charge , they will last you all day long, and hopefully turn you into a heavy vaporer instead of a heavy smoker and will do the job, grab yourself a few LR-510 Atty's to go along with this and a 2 drip tips, you can thank me later, hahaaha

Agree with those 2. I started with a 510 at a friend's recommendation, but ordered an ego a week later. The riva is basically the same thing, and you can get one for about $33 shipped from LF.

Go with an eGo or Riva 510 kit. The Riva 510 kit, boxed kit, is $29.99 at Liberty Flights. I have both eGo and Riva and love them both. I have to look at them to tell which one is which, they are that much alike.

Also, filling cartomizers is a piece of cake and much cheaper in the long run. If you are super paranoid use gloves when filling, you'll quickly see how easy it is and probably not need them. I just wash my hands when I'm done and 1/2 the time I don't do that.

Since you are interested in battery life - 510 has bad battery life - about 2-3 hours max, less if you vape heavily. They do make longer mega batteries for 510 that give 3-5 hours (less if vaped heavily). If you want longer you have to go to Ego or Riva 510, the 6-8+ hour battery life models of 510.

KR8-based has the most prefilled cartos but it's a dedicated 2-piece unless you add parts from other models. With its standard batteries it has the same 3-5 hour battery life as 510 with mega battery.

Cartos and extra long battery life

Your basic choice again comes down to 510 vs KR808D-1
Ego or Riva 510 for 510-based
Elegant Easy (from CigEasy) or the PigCig for KR808D-1 based

Note for any of these you can get portable charging cases for charging on the go. But the 510 with standard length batteries might use up the charge in the portable charging case during a long day if you vape heavily.

510-based (especially in fat battery form) has the most options and accessories of any ecig. Few prefilled cartos but lots of blanks ones, atomizers etc. With the Ego you would also be able to use all of the low resistance harder hitting cartos and attys as well as the new tanks.

Prefilled is just a convenience for the first drags anyway - whatever you get you will be adding ejuice to. A cartomizer does not last as long as a pack of cigs despite what liar rebrander sites say. But if you add juice while it is still wet, a carto may last a week or more.

Whatever you get, get manual batteries. Less work, more consistent hits, more sealed against juice leaks (which also means you can try the dripping method with an atomizer), won't turn on by accident from wind or vibration

I use both 510 (mega manual) and KR808D-1 (standard manual). I was light smoker for the last decade of smoking. I don't need LR parts for more TH. And I am almost always near AC for charging, own PCCs for when I am not.

I bet within 2 months you will be vaping other flavors. It creeps up on you with those flavor tobaccos like 555 and RY4 and others. Real cigarettes have flavors in them - just look at the ingredients of your favorite smokes on the manufacturer's website and you will probably see cocoa, honey or sugar, and for some licorice. Many of the ejuice tobaccos have flavors in them too - honey flue cured, 555, RY4, chocolate tobaccos, vanilla ones etc. They got me eventually. I am now mostly vaping vanilla and a tobacco that has some cocoa in it (and I add more cocoa)

Depending on how much you vape the 510 with the 510 mega batteries may be fine with a PCC or access to AC charging. With megas it is slim and 135mm longer with atty+cart or 128mm long with a standard Boge 510 carto.

About 280mah (3-5 hours of light to moderate vaping) is the most battery life you will get in a slim 120-130mm ecig

ive got a manual 510 from rocky mountain vapor. com my kit was 44 bucks and it came with two atomizers two batteries and like 5 cartridges... its pretty awesome.... so far so good.. they sell liquid there too but also check out tasty vapor. com they have some awesome flavors there too...

I have to agree with others here...the 510 is awesome, but the main drawback is the battery life. I find that with very heavy, continuous vaping, the regular battery lasts about an hour and the mega battery lasts about twice that, maybe a little less. That said, I love my 510. I've solved the battery problem by buying a quiver of mega batteries that I keep in my purse. When I get home at night I recharge (I have two chargers) for the next day. Maybe not the easiest system, but works for me, I never run out of batteries, and, did I say it already? I love my 510! Good luck!
