Going to try my hand at DIY

So I placed an order with wizard labs. Got everything I need to get started. Should arrive tomorrow. So now some questions. I think I know what I want for my mix. However my wife does not like the throat hit. So my question is how do I reduce that. I see differing opinions from all the reading I've done. Seems like some say TH comes from PG others say it's VG. So any advice to lessen TH in my mixes ? The nic I ordered was in VG base. I plan to make my mix VG heavy. As I prefer 70/80 on vg on ordered juice. I may try as close as I can get to 100 vg with mine. Hers will depend on what you experienced diy ers opinions are. She wants to try the gummy candy (tfa) the other flavors I ordered are all fruity. So any advice would be appriciated.

VG is smoother and a little sweeter than PG. So a heavier VG mix would be better for someone who doesn't like as much throat-hit. Good luck on your DIY Adventure!

Edit Different flavors can cause more or less throat-hit also, but overall the Nic will give you you the most.

I plan to mix hers at about 8 with the nic. She uses a protank 2 at 3.3v and a tank will last her about 4 days. And some says she dont even touch it. So I think she does it more for flavor. So we shall see. Right now all our pre mix juices have been 24mg. So I'm going to try cutting mine down to about 18 or so. Maybe lower, since I recently got a kfl and rda. And I finally see what ppl talk about with flavor. It's a dramatic difference. On the rda I've been Building .5 dual coil setup. On kfl about 1.7 is my sweet spot.

I love my kfl+ clone. Saving for a non clone, but I got lucky on mine - no problems whatsoever. I agree with you on the coil resistance, I'm usually between 1.7-1.9 ohms.

On your VG mixes I think between flavoring% and either added PG or Distilled Water you will have better luck with her wicking if that number is at least 20%(in other words no more than 80% VG because of its thicker viscosity). Of course that's just my opinion and YMMV.

You do get more TH with PG, but really the biggest factor in throat hit is the amount of nicotine. If she doesn't vape all that much, maybe just reduce the nicotine.

Yeah I got a ss kfl clone from FT. No problems at all. It's great. Tried a lot of coils. But settled at 1.7. Thanx fir info guys.

25/75 gives very little TH (at least at 10-18 MG) --and it still wicks well in my BDC Nova-S

Well got my order this morning. Mixed up 2 flavors went well. Put them in hot water for a couple hours. Looks good, a little weak but going to wait a day before I add more flavor. Currently vaping my new strawberry mix. At lower nic. Dropped down to 18 from 24. Tried it with no nic first. But ended up adding it. So Thanx for the help guys.
