A lot of people start with Smok tanks. I doubt that Smok uses Pyrex in their tanks because Pyrex is a brand name and they would have to pay Pyrex for the right to use the product. Smok probably uses borosilicate glass, which is the same as Pyrex but without the brand name.

IBTanked is a big step up from Smok when you are talking glass tanks. IBTanked is borosilicate glass. The glass tubes are thick and the unique stainless steel end caps protect the tube from breakage to a degree while reducing overall carto length. The O-rings fit tight. There are excellent glass tanks that cost more but IBTanked is hard to beat as the best bang for the buck in glass carto tanks.

I haven't touched my clearos in over a month. I got some plain cartos then some IKV cartos in a DCT Pryex V1. Then a IBTanked 19mm XL.

I would have a hard time going back now.

That's the same direction I'm taking. IBTanked 19mm XL and IKV cartos. I am so, so tired of the issues with my Pro Tanks or clearomizers in general.

bought a smok dct last week and i believe im going to take a hammer to my pro tanks now lol. carts all the way for me from now own

That's what I did too. Got 2 Smok Pyrex DCT tanks and some F16 cartos. Figured before I invest in an IBTanked I should make sure that I like carto tanks. There's a bit of a learning curve with having to prime the carto, but it's not rocket science. I've been vaping for 3 days now and love it. Not a dry or burned hit yet, no flooding, no having to screw around with clearo heads, taking wicks out, putting them back in - just a consistent vape. Definitely going to be looking into IBTanked.

Nice thing about ibtanked is they send your unit in a sweet little pill bottle style, clear container with extra orings etc. The container can be used to prime the cartos. You just put your 30 drops or so into the carto, fill the tank and drop the assembled tank/w cart into the container, then you twist the cap of the container on and off several times. The cap has a collar on it that when twisted on, creates a positive pressure that pushes the liquid down into the carto and is evident by the exit of bubbles that come flooding out the punched holes. When the bubbles stop coming out you are good to go.

Nice units and great company.
