Gold Drip Tip

Hey all, I just ordered a 15 pack "Resurrector" cartos from CCV with the gift option for the "metal brass" drip tip. It's a gorgeous gold color on top of my all black Reo Grand setup. I thought it was an anodized brass color, but it seems to be actual brass! Can anyone confirm this? There seems to be a distinct metallic taste with it unlike the other anodized aluminum drip tips I have. It also seems to be a much smoother finish, not like the aluminum dt texture. Just wondering if anyone else has one or knows if I'm just losing it, lol. Thanks.

Here's a few pics of my new "metal brass" dt from CCV next to a regular anodized aluminum blue one. You can see how the finish is definitely different, but I don't know if it's just plated or solid brass or what? I kinda wish I had another one so I could cut it in half and see what the middle of the metal is. Would that even work? Also, the brass one was a tighter fit on the cartos I've been using. It actually shaved some oring off the first time I forced it. It works well though and the smooth finish feels nice.

that looks nice I see the bottom is thicker. Perhaps it really is solid brass...that would account for the flavor difference you noticed.

Sure looks like brass to me, whether plated or solid. I've got to order one. I love my brass 801 DT. Our juices
Don't "mess" with any metal or plastic but some do.

Brass weighs 3 times more than aluminum. So, one brass DT would weigh as much as three aluminum DT's (if machined to the same dimensions). Another way to verify if it's brass is to take a pocket knife and cut off a sliver on the edge of the bottom center hole. If it's anodized (plated) aluminum , then the anodize will be cut off exposing the aluminum. Normal anodize is only .002 inch thick, about the thickness of an average human hair.

Well, I took your advice and just scratched the bottom near the hole with a metal pick I have. It's definitely anodized. It shows silver where I scratched. I can't believe I didn't think of this, lol. Anyways, it's gotta be a different manufacturer than my other DTs, it's slightly different cut as you can see in the pics above. Oh well, it sure looks nice on my Grand. Maybe the "metal taste" was just in my head? Whatever. Still like it.

When I saw your gold DT, I also want one. I have a Black/Gold Grand that would look great with a gold DT. But when I looked on CCV, they don't offer gold with the "Resurrector" cartos. They may be out of stock.

On CCV in "Drip Tips" or in "15 Cartos Deal" the gold colored DT isn't in the drop down menus. I think when a product isn't available websites take them off the drop down menus.

I agree with Washvap. The resurrectors are awesome. And yes, the gold colored DT is the "metal brass" choice in the dropdown if they are still available. Good luck, I love it, but like I said, the o-ring on my DT was a little too big. The carto actually shaved a little off from pushing it in. It fits nice now.

I almost agree. I found they can have a large impact on the flavor of some juices. Sometimes a good impact sometimes not so good. Still worth trying. They were great with my cinnamon juice.

Got mine and put one on my Mini. It is doing great! I did put a few drops in before putting it on. Nice vapor and flavor. I like it so far!!!
