Hmm, I thought the bridge was nickel (which would be silver-colored, not gold-colored! I have not dissected an atty, but would assume that the 'coil' uses windings of copper. It sounds a lot like somehow you have coils becoming unwound!!!

No health risk, but I'd love to understand just what the heck is happening with your atties!

I think 'troll hairs' refers to when some of your poly-fill sticks to the wick, and it ends up looking like those little troll pencil-toppers that have the wild hair. I could be wrong on that though.

what exactly is the wick? is that the silver nickel thing? what i pulled out were little gold fiber like strands. I assumed it was cart filler remnants that had gotten stuck. So i pulled them out. I believe they were gold colored because they were soaked in juice. I'm really hoping i didn't ruin my atty's as they're only a few days old.

i ran it through hot water and dry burned it slowly until it dried. when i put my cart back on it wasn't hitting at all. I ended up having to drip on it to get it to hit. first time i've dripped and i still have the filled cart on. not sure how many hits a drip should typically last for but it did stop hitting after a bit even with the filled cart in it. I'm pretty sure i pulled out the wick. I don't see anything under the bridge.

jimmy use an empty cart from now on, with this newly 'created' dripping atty.
I drip thru choice anyway I think its much better.

(As you only can use it now for dripping you should pull the rest of the 'troll hairs' out as they wont do anything now, and might get in the way, may as well finish the job eh? lol)
