Gold-Plated V3 Flip by V3tronix

Okay... So I am buying a V3 tomorrow but I cant decide on the color. Is the gold-plated V3 gaudy? When I first saw it in gold I thought "Wow, that is BEAUTIFUL". I love the mod and I think I like the gold-plated color but I don't want to get tired of it and I think I might.

Let me have your opinion.

I think its gaudy. The device itself was already gaudy and the gold plating makes it look like a mainstream rapper's mod IMO. If I were to get an authentic Flip (which I wouldn't because honestly the SS doesn't hit that hard and you can't see the full engraving without buying a battery spacer in 18650 mode), I'd get the matte SS version.

I dig the mod, I wouldn't touch one after the childish display of unprofessionalism shown towards their own customers over the clone issue.
They really shot themselves in the foot.
Prime example of how NOT to act professionally.

That said, I do like the styling. It's unique.
Gold plating wears off. Brass or SS might be better in the long term.

In a nutshell, They threatened people publicly...not a good look for V3tronix...

I do own a Gold V3 Flip, though....bought it before I knew the extent of how they acted about the whole clone thing....It is a good performing mod, but I do have a few issues with it. First, mine stands up crooked. So when it's stood up locked, it looks like the Leaning Tower of Piza! Second, I HATE that you cannot dissassemble the switch....that bugs me.....

The looks are what they are....polarizing.....either you love them or hate them....I personally think it's gaudy (and I own one!!)......I bought it when they first came out and my tastes have changed a lot over the last year or so...What worse, I got my initials engraved on it which basically renders it unsellable.....

Worst case scenario you could always try one of the $50 clones from someone like 101vape (if you don't mind a modified logo) or even Fasttech has a few clones of it..

Actually looks like V3 got to fasttech (or its suppliers dropped the branded ones due to US vendors being threatened), so that eliminates one option.

The clone is obviously not going to be a precisely machined as the original (seen in reviews) but the question is the difference in quality worth the difference in price.

Depends on the manufacturer and the clone.
Most quality clones are very close if not equal in build quality and performance.
Some are better in those areas than the original.
Some cheaper made clones are absolute garbage.

The legit reasons to buy an original (IMHO) are not performance or value.
It's to own something original, from the original designer.
Personal satisfaction.

That said, I only own clones.

I think you'll like it....the gold plating is done very nicely, and the mod does hit like a train.....I just wish you could service the switch...

I've always been pleased with the look and feel of my V3 Flip, but I do agree that it's a love it or hate it styling.

The most important thing is that you enjoy it....everyone else can take a flying leap.

I love it plus I feel it has that wow factor! I can't put it down. Now I need to find a matching atty that is of superior quality. I asked if I can take my Zenith to a jeweler and have it dipped in gold on another thread but I'm not getting many responses.

Just got my gold V3 in the mail today, paid $36 USD to have it overnighted from Cali to PA, and that was Tuesday... Other than that thought I couldn't be happier, sittin' with the Plume Veil on top, hits like a d&mn truck!
