Hello there...my name is LeeAnn and I took the plunge and bought an e-cig today. I purchased the CIG20 brand from a local tobacco shop. I figured if the refills were easily accessible I would be tempted to back slide should I run out. I can just run up to the store and get some more. I have smoked for 35 years and it's time to stop. I am tired of being short of breath, smelling like an ashtray and having to arrange my day around when and if I will be able to smoke! Glad to have found this place and am looking forward to meeting some friends that can give me some moral support....

I got a Cig2o first as well. They have kr808d-1 threads so you can buy cartos for them from V4L and several other sites should you choose to want to try new flavors... Cig2o only produces 5 or 6 flavors if I remember right. It's a good little starter set, and will get you on the right path. Welcome!

Wow!! I didn't expect so many replies so fast!! Awe...you all make me feel so welcome here...thanks so much...I'm really scared about quitting...I have failed SO many times before....however, never used the e-cig.

First lesson for ya'! Don't be afraid...don't stress over it...if you smoke a few, don't kick yourself. Vaping is such a pleasurable experience, you'll likely find yourself vaping rather than smoking...it's simple!! Just let yourself kinda fall into quitting...if that makes sense...

I REALLY like the idea of when I feel the need to smoke/vape I don't have to go outside or get away from others for fear of offending them with the smell of regular cigarette smoke. Very cool to be able to sit in my house and vape instead of going outside!

Yep! One of the many great things about vaping!

Quitter, like carpedebass said vaping is all about taking it at your own pace. Here on the ECF we've all had our nightmares and fear filled horror stories when it came to trying to quit smoking. Luckily, everyone here has discovered vaping and we've all found, to varying degrees, how vaping works for us. Some have found they quit cigarettes from the very first cloud of vapor they take into their lungs, others it takes a few days or weeks to make a complete switch to vaping, and still others find they are comfortable with vaping and the occasional smoke. No pressure here as we all know the feelings you're going through right now in our own ways.

For the most part you can vape pretty much anywhere, as long as you're respectful, and most people won't even be paying enough attention to even notice that you're doing so as one of the main triggers is the smell of the smoke and vapor has hardly any smell at all. And stealth vaping in forbidden places can be oh so pleasurable too, but that is up to you as we in no way endorse such behavior here, heehee.

I wish I could find a CUTE case to carry my e-cig in my purse and lay out on the table when out...all I have seen are some pretty tacky ones...what to do...what to do....

Welcome Quitter. I had the same fears as you having tried every other quit method besides Chantix (Wellbrutrin made me massively depressed so I didn't even think about going THERE). Thanks to vaping I am 3 months quit, painlessly, happily and FOR GOOD. Give yourself a couple weeks to get the equipment figured out - it's a whole new world. I smoked just a couple packs the first three weeks (former 2 PAD ultra light smoker) even with what I called the "fiddle with it" frustrations.
Hopefully you will soon find out how much better vaping really is - in numerous ways - than smoking. Best of luck.

Thanks for much for the great advice! I can see there is an abundance of knowledge here. I will have no problem seeking advice when I need to upgrade or just a have a question....you folks are so NICE! And I thought we had the corner on the market on Southern Hospitality here in Alabama...I think all of you are gonna give this "sweet" southerner a run for her money!! Much love :)
