About three years ago I gave vaping a try. Unfortunately it was a huge failure. At the time, I went with a Volcano MAGMA solution as I was looking for something that as closely resembled a real cig. That was a mistake.

I have been looking through the "Pictures of your Setup" thread and really don't see ANYTHING that even closely resembles a real cig.

With that being said, I need some suggestions for a good setup that will help me stick with it this time. I don't have a problem buying parts separate or as a kit. As well, would like some suggestions for juice. Last time I tried to stick with the normal, tobacco flavor, but this time I'm looking to branch out with what everyone suggests.

Price is not that important, obviously I don't want to spend $300 on an Orion v3 but am open to suggestions.

And FWIW, the is a shop in the small town I live in but I want to get suggestions from the professionals here before I even step foot in that store. As well, I'm sure I can get a better deal online than in a brick and mortar store.

I started on the halo triton recently. being that I've tried the ego t first I can honestly say the triton is the perfect starter. Simple to use and easy setup. Check it out, I know more advanced users will hate on this but most that tell me its not worth while also then tell me theyve never tried it. Be wary of some ppl on here simply because ppl naturally love they're own set ups and condemn all others. Also check out tritons reviews. It shines on all I've seen

Rule of Thumb: generally, the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

I'm also a fan of "variable" vaping but like the advantages of variable watt (VW) models over variable volt (VV) models.

But if you are not ready to go that route and dont' mind a PV the size of a cigar, I just saw a review by one of the most trusted reviewers on ECF on a new model. I've never used it but was impressed with Phil's review. It's the Vapr4Life Zeus:

Good Luck

I quit smoking actual cigarettes back on December 22, 2012, but only recently switched to the Volcano Inferno kit about 7 weeks ago. In between those two times, I also wanted the the look/feel of a real cigarette. I stopped at gas stations and found a couple alternatives, the closest being the Njoy King - it's super light in weight, the exact same size as a regular cigarette, and the feel of the material was somewhat squishy, very much like a real cigarette. Also, with automatic batteries, there aren't any buttons to press - just puff and profit.

Unfortunately, they're around $10 and only lasted me about 8 hours, but considering the authentic qualities, I guess you get what you pay for.

Aside from those, I found a gas station with these Square cigarettes - manual batteries and about the size of a 100, but they were only 7 bucks and lasted about 10 hours. Again, really counterproductive in the fiscal aspect alone.

You can get a 650 mAh eGo style or maybe even something in the 300 mAh range that will be compact enough (to some extent) - the 650 mAh Inferno battery I use is about 3.5" long and 0.5" wide, so it's nothing like the feel of a real cigarette, but it's also not like some of the gigantic mods out there, and it still provides a good vape.

I had to drop the aesthetic expectations to really get what I was looking for... a worthwhile experience.

I just ordered a joyetech ego-c two nights ago. A friend of mine recently got one and I tried it and fell in love. I don't have mine yet, but just for the short amount of time using it, I knew it was better quality than the Blu and the V2 I currently own. I agree with you...the more it looks like an analog, the worse the performance. I have looked at the juice selection at "www.mtbakervapor.com". They have hundreds of flavors to choose from. For me, I went with chocolatey flavors because that's my second addiction. Lol. Buy the flavors you like. Good luck to you!

Hah, if you are okay with dropping that kind of cash, check out myvaporstore.com. They have starter kits that come with ego c twist and a choice of different cartomizers for $60 or $70. They kind of lack in their e juice department, but you can surely find a few that you will like.

Mt Baker Vapor has a mini ego kit for like $32 and they have awesome juice.

Wherever you buy from, make sure you do a search for coupon codes 95% of vendors have 5-10% off codes floating around.

Putting together some gear from Fasttech.. hang tight. I guess I should ask if you mind ordering from China?

Depends on shipping. Would rather get it sooner than later. Might go by the local shop as well since I have more knowledge now. Didn't want to walk in clueless and get sold something that would be completely worthless.

My suggestion-
A few eGo batteries, a charger, and a few EVOD tanks should get you set(if they have them) Vision spinners or Twists are also highly recommended instead of regular ego batteries. If you go to a local store ask them if they will let you sample a few liquids before you buy.
If you piece something together make sure to get at least 2 of everything except for the charger.
If they don't have EVODs the vision CE series is an ok starter as well.

Let us know how it goes, and if you don't find what you need or want, we can point you in the right direction!

So with the EVOD tanks I will have to have have an adapter for a Twist or Spinner batt, correct? Any reason I should get the EVOD instead of the Vivi Mini Nova?

EVODS are eGo threaded, that will be fine. EVOD vs VIVI is a personal preference. The EVOD is a bottom coil, while VIVI is top. My preference is for the EVOD, as the top coils I've used did not perform very well, but again, they were not vivis and they might be better than others. I like the ease of filling, cleaning and changing heads, but I'm sure others with more experience might say the same for the vivi nova. You could always get one of each though, as they are around the same price range.

You tried a cig-a-like and didn't like it, right? Try a Vamo. It's big but beautiful. To start with I'd use it with a standard 510 atomiser, an Ego cone to keep the vapour warm (it will fit the Vamo internal hthreads) and a drip tip. To start wit dial it up to 4.2 volts and adjust in .1 increments until you are happy. Juice is really subjective but the tobacco flavours (imho) do not taste of tobacco. Try a blackcurrant or a green apple from any vendor you fancy. Whatever you decide keep at it and good luck - you really won't regret it! :)
