Wait a sec, in the original post, you said that nicotine was indeed a big issue, and although cigarettes are bad, im not sure starting at such a high nic dose will be the right thing for you! Please, I know I write a lot, but try to bare with me -- read what you see here, and really think about it!

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the thing, so very many people here give up smoking only to pick up the new habit of vaping. Now vaping does not contain the cancer causing chemicals or harmful poisons like analogs do, but depending on the liquid and usage, I find that many people here over consume nicotine relative to their previous consumption, via analogs.

Think of it this way, e-cigs will give you the opportunity to "smoke" pretty much anywhere and since it is "better" we wont feel guilty about doing it! Also factor in the fact that most of us have addictive personalities, and when it all adds up, this new priveledge of "smoking anywhere" will seem like a win-win scenario. The problem is, you have to be careful! I can guarantee that almost everyone here admits to vaping more than they smoked analogs.

Lets say you smoke a pack a day... that is ~22 mg of nicotine each pack, within 24 hrs of usage. Therefore, you should NOT be consuming more than this much nicotine using the vaping method. If you do, then you are pretty much worse off than you were with e-cigs, in regards to nicotine (which seem to be your main concern).

Lets say you buy a 36 mg liquid, that means per every 1 ml of liquid you smoke, you get 36 mg of nicotine. That is already quite a bit more than a pack of smokes! Also consider that it is not that uncommon to smoke 1 ml of liquid a day ... at 2 ml of liquid, you will have consumed 72 mg's of nicotine, equivelent to 3.5 cigarette packs worth of nic!

In your particular situation, it would be wise to not tempt yourself which such high nicotine concentrations. Use ignorance to your advantage, because i GUARANTEE that if you get the 36 mg, you will become used to 36 mg dosage and it will be extremely difficult to go lower. Your body will NEED THE FIX just like it would with any other substance! It would be wise to use the above option of maintaining a lower nic dose, but maybe rewarding yourself with the 36 mg every once and a while.

IMO get a medium mix and work from there, but then again, this is just my opinion and I am just trying to look out! Lemme know if I am flawed or wrong in any of my arguements!

Nwofoxhound, the "flaw" in your argument is that we don't yet know the effective nicotine absortion rate we are getting from our ecigs. It's certain to be less than the amount contained in the liquid to start out with.

Some of us have maintained all along that we may well be getting a lot less nicotine than otherwise might be thought. Blood plasma concentrations of nicotine with ecig use must be studied before we can know this for sure, but just today the first results of such testing were posted - revealing a much lower amount of nicotine being absorbed with ecigs, as compared to both cigarettes and even the Nicorette inhaler!

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...5034-nicotine-absorbtion-vaping-research.html

The study referred to is just a very small one, and must be considered to be preliminary as of yet, but it does agree with what Dr. Laugesen reported before - that puff for puff we are getting far less nicotine from ecigs than from smoking. Further studies of this nature are being done in Virginia right now though, so hopefully we will know our nicotine absortion rates from ecigs with more certainty in the near future. But if we are getting far less nicotine, that may explain why so many of us do puff on our ecigs all day.

Aside from all of that though, again I repeat that everything I have researched as well as heard from both my various physicians and many other experts in the field, point to the fact that it is not nicotine itself that is the culprit, whether we are talking cancer, COPD, or cardiovascular problems that are due to smoking. It is the tar and the other toxic products of combustion, and especially carbon monoxide as to cardiovascular issues, that are the killers.

IMO you should start out with at most 18mg juice. You will prolly be vaping more than you realize and especially since you are having clotting issues, you should start lower as opposed to higher. Give it a try. I was smoking 40+ a day and am now using a low juice and a medium juice(mostly the low). Please for your own sake don't start out with such a high blend.

Ok, sounds like pretty good advice. Will start out lower. I may go ahead and get the 36mg also to cut with glycerin and flavors, etc. and to use when I need a little more boost--LOL

Lorann's flavorings has a website:(oops, can't post websites yet) can't even copy em--LOL

I would get a bottle of the 36, but also something a lot lower - use the lower strength liquids for most of your vaping, and spike with the 36 when you have an intense craving.... You can cut it later if you wish with the VG and lorann's.

Welcome to the family!
Thanks, since ya'll do this and I don't yet---I will take ya'lls advice and start lower with the 36 for the extra punch when needed.

I Vaped most in the bathrooms, but at night in the plane when they turned the lights off, it was pretty easy to cover the LED and vape in my seat - in one direction on the longer flights I had someone next to me, going in the other direction nobody next to me so it was SUPER easy :D

It was really AMAZING to me to be able to take that BIG ol puff and relax, I hate flying but do so every few years (I fly to Africa) I swear I even slept better on the plane after vaping just a few good puffs...
Sounds great, but, you don't want me falling asleep on a plane--my snoring would make folks think they are flyin in turbulence--8-o:D
Hey WebNetIncome,
I bet you would like "Hilton" from TotallyWicked. Has a real nice kick to it. Definitely takes away any graving I get for a cig.
MMMM, may give that one a try. Thanks.

Your arguments appear to be sound judgement to me. I will follow your advice also. Thanks for looking out for a newbie.

oops! copying website again--hehehe

I will just be glad to get rid of the other bad stuff---maybe I can even put down the vapin at a later date.
Man, I am learning more than I thought possible real fast. Thank you all for the help and advice.

Make sure you like the taste of the Glycerine before you mix a big batch, more than a few people don't. I don't care for it all and ended up dumping a big batch down the drain...
Ouch! that had to hurt. Never even thought about the taste of glycerin. Guess need to try small bottle.
Thanks,
Glenn
