I'm still fairly new to vaping. Only a bit over a month now without any analogs. Anyway, I ordered a five pack of "genuine" joye 510 atomizers (standard resistance) from vapessupplies. Thought I was getting a good deal but I am not very satisfied.

I noticed right away that the area below the bridge was different than the attys that came with my starter kit (the white part was circular instead of rectangular). They seemed to work fine at first but it's been just over a week and 2 of them are already dead with a third one that seems to be on the outs. One died after about one hour of use! Unfortunately they have a 48 hour return policy and I didn't test them all until the third or fourth day after I got them.

Anyway, can someone refer me to a good supplier of 510 attys that will last a bit longer for a decent price? I certainly don't mind paying more if they'll actyally last more than a few days like the ones that came with my starter kit did but it'd be nice to save a few bucks if I order like a 5 pack.

Any place with Joye aka joyetech brand

Slim 510 needs atomizer 2.5 to 3 ohms (2. is the hotter end of that range)

Liberty-Flights.com, LiteCigUSA.net, Cignot.com

And try cartomizers. Most people use cartomizer for everyday vaping and Boge standard resistance (around 3 ohms) are most popular for slim 510 and the hotter 2 ohm ones are most popular for 510-threaded fat battery models (like Ego, Riva 510) and mods

WELCOME TO THE ECF

Joye atties have QC issues and so, that explains why some of them died after an hour. I've experienced this myself with a couple that were DOA. With the others, you could have extended the life of those atomizers by simply cleaning them after a days worth of use. This will keep them clean and the coil won't be gunked up. In general, I like Joye 510's and if they are properly maintained. Will last just as long as premium atomizers.

The juice that your using will also determine how the atomizers perform. Higher VG juices will give you more vapor and etc. But, they gunk up the coil a bit quicker in general. So, if you use them quite often without cleaning your atomizer. Then your going to notice decreased performance as well as the gunk affecting the flavor of the juice your using as well. If the coil is gunked up then you will also have to dry burn it as well as clean it. You will know if the coil is gunked up if it looks black due to the burnt juice that has collected on the coil over time. Dry burning will undoubtedly reduce the lifespan of your atomizer as well as present the chance of you popping the coil. But, it's worth it if you want to bring the performance to what it was beforehand. If you want to know how to dry burn an atty then here's the directions on that:

1. Clean it and then blow all of the access water out of the atomizer
2. Press the button for 1 second and let go.
3. Let it rest after a little. Feel the atomizer to see how hot it is.
4. Repeat step 2 & 3 until smoke arises from the coil and you see the orange of the coil. Also, you will see that the black gunked up juice will become ash.
5. Rinse it out and repeat steps 2 -4 until the coil lights up quickly when you press the button.

*All of this could be avoided if you clean your atomizer after a days worth of use.

Also, flooding an atomizer will also decrease the life of the atomizer as well as vaping it dry. With 510's 2 drops will generally last anywhere between 5-8 hits. You will know when it's time since you will taste a decrease in flavor and especially when you taste a faint burnt flavor. The next one after that will be horrible.

If you really want a better supplier of 510 atties then I would suggest to you Avid Vapers and Ikenvape. Which are the two most highly regarded producer of atomizers in the US. They also don't have any primer fluid in the their atomizers as well. It's still a mystery as to what that substance is and whether it's safe or not to inhale.

As far as durability. They might last longer but, that's if they are maintained properly. What they do offer is performance in that they will give you better TH, flavor, heat, and vapor.

Thanks. I will try some of the sites you guys suggested.

I am pretty sure the 5 pack I got were knock offs though because I noticed a few other differences compared to the originals. Also, I did clean them after every day of use and was using a mixture of vg and pg. The original atomizers I got with the starter kit lasted much longer (one still works great and the other works somewhat). I was using 100% vg with those and never cleaned them once until a couple of weeks after I got them. I'm almost positive that this 5 pack was bunk since I actually maintained them and they're still dropping like flies. Also, I'm not sure how they normally go out but these just died all of a sudden. They worked fine one second and not at all the next whereas the one from my starter kit that isn't working 100% has had a steady decline over time.

Anyway, thanks again for the recommendations.
