A friend of mine owns a restaurant. He is a fabulous cook and I used to go there very frequently. I have been avoiding it because everyone there smokes. In some cultures, smoking is still very common.
There is a party room that's separate from the regular dining area. When not in use for parties, friends can eat in there and the waiters etc. use it as a smoking lounge. We gathered there to shoot the breeze, drink coffee and chain smoke about a pack in 2-3 hours, especially after closing on weekends.
Very pleased to find out the smell was more like a heavy stench to me. I actually sat about 3 tables away because it was irritating. While I imagined this would be the case, it was exceptionally pleasing to actually see this happen!!
