Time and time again, the FDA seems incredibly lax on the pharmaceutical industry.. Obviously dismissing the extreme dangers of such a pill being on the market and giving the nod toward widespread distribution (even if it is only available by prescription).. It should take them a fraction of the time to approve the ecig industry wholeheartedly.

honestly theres nothing wrong with the drug, to much of any drug will kill you at the end of the day. why make pain suffers stay in pain just because idiots use it to get high and end up addicted to it causeing there own death. I remember I was in chronic pain down one side and was on the highest pain relief I could get and ill tell you something, if my doctor said there was something better to help I would of took it.

my own opinion why I think the fda dont like ecigs is because of the lost taxs and the fact it more or less gives them the finger as smokers won one over them after them trying to make us all out casts. we made a better alternative thats safer and cheaper without the high cost alternative drugs they approved as they dont work.

OP doesn't yet understand the political process involved with the FDA and its "decision making". The FDA relies on "funding" by Big Pharm and Big tobacco to sustain itself and stay in business.

How does something like Chantix get approved with all of the side effects it has? How are cigarettes allowed to be sold with all of the data now available showing how they contain poisons and carcinogens known to cause cancer?

The government will never ban cigarettes. This would put all tobacco farmers and tobacco cigarette manufacturers out of a job and create massive unemployment issues for the government, not to mention all of the loss revenue in sin taxes.

Big Pharm has the most to lose if e-cigarettes get light regulation. They will have one member on the FDA board deciding about e-cig classification and regulation, Big Tobacco will have two. E-cigarettes will have one CASAA representative to represent vapers. Do the math.

This is our political process in this country as well as others. Its all about the money. My :2c:

The problem is that the Vaping companies aren't lobbying DC with a few hundred million every year. When you drop half of a billion in lobbying, like pharma companies, things tend to fall your way.

Was watching some pill commercial last night and it literally made me laugh out loud.

Don't remember the name of it, or exact wording, but it was saying something like:

- if your child starts experiencing puberty earlier than expected, stop taking the pill and contact a doctor
- if a woman taking the medication starts growing hair on her body in unusual spots, stop taking the pill and contact a doctor

Even typing them makes me giggle. Commercials like this seem like humorous jokes and become a little more funny when you realize they aren't trying to be humorous.

So, that's FDA approved and okay to be sold/advertised, but someone inhaling 0mg nicotine vapor is cause for great (or really any) concern?

WARNING: ADDICTION, ABUSE, AND MISUSE; LIFE-THREATENING RESPIRATORY DEPRESSION; ACCIDENTAL EXPOSURE; NEONATAL OPIOID WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME; and INTERACTION WITH ALCOHOL

Zohydro ER exposes patients and other users to the risks of opioid addiction, abuse, and misuse, which can lead to overdose and death. Assess each patient's risk prior to prescribing Zohydro ER, and monitor all patients regularly for the development of these behaviors or conditions.

"Zohydro ER (hydrocodone bitartrate) extended-release capsules are hard gelatin capsules for oral administration. Each Zohydro ER capsule contains either 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, or 50 mg of hydrocodone bitartrate USP and the following inactive ingredients: sugar spheres NF, hypromellose USP, ammonio methacrylate copolymer NF, silicon dioxide NF, and talc USP. The capsule shells collectively contain titanium dioxide,..."

Look at the MINIMUM DOSE available. Start folks off on 10mg and go only UP from there; what a great addictive drug! ALSO ...... where have I read about the ingredient, "titanium dioxide" and e-cigarette 'juice'? Does UNICORN MILK by Cuttwood sound familiar? If it BAD in 'juice' ........ suddenly it is OK in DRUG CAPSULES?

Now while I benefit from the pain-killers I am "prescribed" - this one makes me a bit scared. People tend to take more than prescribed and most get away with it - even if only when pain is really severe. Perhaps take two instead of one ...... take at 3 hours instead of 4 to 6..... stacking these back to back could be problem; especially at doses at 30 to 50mg per capsule! They will be rage "on the street" -- it is already "crushed" and ready to "ingest" by whatever the favorite method!

"Accidental consumption of even one dose of Zohydro ER, especially by children, can result in a fatal overdose of hydrocodone." What? No, "protect the chillun" cries from Washington, DC? Oh Barack!

If I swallow a penny I'll just pass it. If I vaporize and inhale a penny... well, you see where I'm going with that. The reverse for tobacco. I smoked a while before my parents found out. They made me eat the tobacco from a whole pack of cigs. I'd much rather smoke tobacco than eat it. Less vomiting that way. I'd rather have titanium dioxide pass through my digestive system than my respiratory system. But, since it's in my deodorant too, I'd rather not eat it either.
