Cotton Candy IS NOT ALWAYS Ethyl Maltol. Perfumer's Apprentice sells Ethyl Maltol crystals pre-diluted at 10% in PG as Cotton Candy flavor. They also sell the crystals themselves.

Have you used both the prediluted and the crystals ? I want to use these but not sure which form is better so I've been sitting on the fence with which to order. Or just order both. I am looking for the benefits of each, pro's and con's

I got mine from TPA before she was doing the flavorings.

She intended it for perfume mixes and it was pre-dilluted.

When I order again I will go for the solids so I can mix up a bottle size that fits my storage cabinet better.

Don't see how it will be any different than the menthol crystals. What I don't use will be sealed and waiting for whenever I need to refill.

I do think my original bottle is pretty neat looking, but it is an odd height, so I will have non-juice use for it afterward.

I always have plenty of PGA & PG on hand, so mixing the solid is not an issue.

I do have both the liquid and the solid.

The liquid is easier to use, but the solid is more versatile. If you use 100 proof or higher alcohol in your mixes, the solid will dissolve just as well in the alcohol than in PG and without heating. The solid can also be used in VG-only mixes if you use alcohol to dissolve it. The solid can also dissolve into PG that already has nicotine if you have existing liquid that you want to sweeten without losing nicotine levels.

The liquid will save you an extra step, though.

I use the PA Cotton Candy in my mixes to sweeten them. I've been using just one drop in a 3ml mix to give you a reference to scale. I'm doing that because I've seen other recipes here that do that too. I've been trying it along with PA's sweetner to see which I like best and/or which tastes better in different recipes.

I haven't reached any conclusions yet either. I'm still new at this game. But the CC seems to have a stronger sweet or a different flavor than the sweetner. Others have said the sweetner is sweeter. It's a matter of taste I suppose or even what I may have been drinking or vaping at the time I tried it. Go figure.
