In the UK we have had a standard answer from NHS health professionals.... Use patches and give up..... Keep away from e cigs.
My wife went to the doctor this week and the subject came up and to her surprise the dr said well done they are far safer than real cigs. Then I had to see a cardiac specialist at our hospital and once again the subject came up and her take was "that's great, you know nicotine is only as bad for you as caffeine" well I was speechless. I wonder if the whole NHS have taken a turn for the better.
