Hubby is off to bed, so I'm sitting here alone, surfing the web, watching TV and vaping back and forth between my eGo with carto and a regular 510 with regular atty.

Then I decided to organize my tackle box o' gear. Heh. I didn't get very far with that. One of my old 901 batteries still had a charge on it, so I filled a cart and got it into the rotation...

Wow. So much flavor! I'd forgotten how much more flavor that 901 packs. Now I'm wondering why I ever thought the 510 was better. LOL. It was, though. I remember when I first switched —.I had both next to me and I just kept reaching for the 510 more and more. It's nice to go back the 901 now, though. Maybe I need to get one of those 510 to 901 adapters so I can mix and match.

Coming up to 2 years since I started vaping (Early July 2008) & still prefer Good ol' DSE901 atomiser above all others :) Though these days I use it on on my GG's rather than a generic 901 battery :D

Never really understood why so many preferred & promoted the 510.

I had given up on 901's after my initial kit with auto battery it just yielded little vape so I retired it.
Then I got a Silver bullet.
Then I got a LR 901.
Then I got a HV 901.

WOW, Totally different from stock.

My eGo with a LR 901 is transformed.
My SB at 6V with a HV 901 is a force to be reckoned with.

Now I use my 501's at work, for the quick hit and my 901's at home when I'm chilling and watching the tube. I love the flavor of this atty, at 6V it comes alive. So much better than a 510 at 6V.

I happened to pull out some of my 901 gear yesterday as well, for the first time since getting my first TorneGo back in March. I had some new batts that had been sitting around unused so I charged them up and got to it. It's been pleasant vaping but I don't like the seemingly constant charging cycle. Nice flavor though and the simplicity of automatic batteries is cool.

i use RN4075's after too many dse premature failures. They are hard to kill and have a wider bridge to hold more juice. Same as a 901 = interchangeable with dse batteries, tons of flavor and my favorite atty.

i get them here.:

for 801 stuff I switched to BE112 atties and they don't leak juice at all with an 801 cart. Vape all the juice too with no mods. Took me awhile to find what works, but now i switch it up depending on my mood.

Absolutely loved my 901 on a manual passthrough. Then I switched up to a 510 5v mod and a 901 5v mod. (And yes, for me, there is a difference. Doing the adapter thing doesn't cut it.)

There are certain DIY juice that just tastes better on the 510 - the flavor really comes through, no burnt taste, no setting my tongue on fire.

Vice-versa with the 901. My citrus juice is great on a 510, but on a 901, it's like my mouth gets sore. Chocolate creme de menthe is awesome on my 901, but is horrid on the 510.

JMHO.

Nice to see there's still some love out there for the 901. After using it for a while last night, I found the flavor was awesome, but short lived. If I recall, that's why I ended up switching to the 510 — more consistency despite a bit of a sacrifice in flavor. I think I may have to pull the 901 out more often, though, and drip with it. It was fun to use it again.

I think the flavor difference between the 901 and 510 is just your tongue getting used to the different atomizer. I notice that if I vape the 901 too long I get used to the taste and inevitably switch to the 510... then back to the 901/401/801...

IMO, The flavor difference between the 901 and 510 is almost certainly a function of the temperature. The stock 901 runs much cooler, so in general most flavors come through much better. The stock 510 runs hotter, so it produces thicker warmer vapor and thus more throat hit. Of course, when you throw in the variables of different resistance attys and different voltage batteries, this may no longer be the case.

I loved my 901 above all others until they changed them, the ones with the bigger washer suck. They leak like sieves and flood too easily. They don't seem to hold the liquid like the old ones did. 3 drops, flooded. Dry after 6 hits with 2 drops.

I've gone to 808 cartos now.

I really really hope they change them back to the older kind, but I can't see it happening.:(
