They moved my post here and then I noticed that you posted the same thing. Sorry, but I'm glad that it was mentioned. Unfortunately, I don't think that either post will get much recognition here and this is big news.
Actually, I think a huge portion of e-cigarette news are predicting the future pretty much the same way as this one. This is just one of many articles.
Even if someone misses out this time, they will get the same information from another source the next time.
Don't worry
I suggest the FDA is dragging its feet on purpose
about releasing their proposed deeming regulations.
The truth about e-smoking is no longer some kind of big secret
and e-cigarettes are now "mainstreamed".
The FDA knows they will have HUGE Negative PR issues on their hands...
as well as lawsuits.
The E-cigarette movement is much-larger than "cig-a-likes".
The movement has...and is continuing to bring to market many variances
that save Millions of lives.
If the FDA, even implies, they want to shut down the industry leaving only
low nic "cig-a-likes" in place with pre-filled carts ... They better "Buckle-Up"
and get ready to get "Hammered".
I sometimes wonder if the FDA is trying to use reverse psychology on us. I don't really think so, but wouldn't that be a brilliant approach?
FDA:"No, you rebel smokers who like to defy authority, our experts say you must not use these!"
Rebel smoker: "oh yeah, well FU you uptight sanctimonious square. I'll do what I want!"
FDA: "oh wow, you sure showed us". Tee-hee-hee, our plan is working...
This article's key find is CITI's estimate that worldwide sales of e-cigarettes will be $1.9 billion in 2013, up from $1 billion in 2012.
Since US sales have been estimated to be $1 billion in 2013, up from $500 million in 2012, it appears that half of all e-cigarettes are sold/consumed in the US.
Regarding FDA, they simply don't know what to do about e-cigarettes, but at least they're beginning to realize that fact.
That's why they brought Mitch Zeller back to the agency (he was Deputy FDA Commissioner from 1994-2000) to guide them out of the huge mess that Obama's abstinence-only appointees and hirees at DHHS have created for themselves (and all tobacco and e-cigarette companies and consumers) since 2009 shortly after Obama was sworn in as President.
