No one is offended, unless perhaps you. I was being tongue-in-cheek about my own age.
Personally, I'd prefer not to have to deal with messing with tanks if I could avoid it. A throwaway like a CE4 might be a better first step to ease someone into this stuff was my point. If I'd had to start off thinking about messing with tanks, I might have gotten discouraged and gone back to analogs. But dealing with throwaways was a lot easier, and once I got accustomed to that, tanks and cartos and all the other stuff seemed like just another tiny step, not a big one.
