Good Signs at the Doc's Office

Great news, but we only read about stuff like that in here, but this is what makes it to the media: Electronic Cigarettes, what's really in them?

Edit: Just discovered that Gweyn Cheser is actually a political activist and works in the quit smoking area, being a former smoker herself. Sounds like Big tobacco and Big Pharma just paid for another news story.

Yeah, follow the money...it talks.

Mass media is useless (PERIOD) I don't believe most of the things they say. Other than that anchor from CNN back in the 80's (Bernard Shaw?), journalism in mass media died with Walter Cronkite. See they raise their eyebrows with every word, wave their arms, swing their heads and shout over the fancy music and graphics. Have you noticed everything is "unprecedented" now, like people never died or countries never went broke? Just the facts, ma'am. No sensationalism, no editorials, please!

The so-called news turned into entertainment, all about the ad dollars. Casey Anthony, remember Elian Gonzales? I prefer alternative sources for my news, use a heavy filter and a good dose of empiricism. Rant, rant.

I will, but it may not be for a while. It won't be for crabs 'cause I puff up like a balloon if I ate them. Too bad, loved them as a kid but my body changed.

I spent 1 1/2 hours at the doctor's office today, 5 minutes with the doctor, 3 minutes with a nurse and the rest of the time waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

When I finally saw the doc, told her I quit after 30 years of smoking. She looked at me like I had won the lottery. Then, I clarified. I'm still doing nic with e-cigarette, but no smoke. I asked her did she know what an e-cig was. She nodded confidently. And surprisingly, she still had that big grin like "one more life saved!" Her job was done.

Couple of good signs I noticed here: 1. the doctor was well aware of e-cigs, speaks to its prevalence, 2. She regarded vaping as QUITTING SMOKING, did not mention the possible harm of PG/VG, nic, no frawns, no shaking finger. If fact, her words were "you're on the right path."

Just one doc's reaction, in just one little town, from just a guy.

awesome! glad to see some medical professionals who are aware of vaping and its benefits and don't put it in the same category as smoking. Good to hear!

One of my co-workers actually said her doctor SELLS them in his office! Said he buys them for his parents so they'd quite analogs and must've decided to share it with his patients. Now THAT is pretty awesome!

That is great. Hopefully, that doc doesn't get into all that "this is not a smoking cessation device non-sense" trouble. It's way better than prescribing Chantix, which my previous doc tried on me a few years ago, free samples too!

I was only using the vernacular, but turned out in PMs KB really is an officer, naval aviator too. I had no clue.

I know, I know. Look at where you are and where I am. If I were still in Arlington, VA, where I lived 30 years ago, I would have taken up on his offer and driven down. It's killing me...already asking KB about FL cost of living. Yes, that tempting.

I think its great that the FDA might want to regulate e-cigs so we will have ease of mind over new juices by new suppliers. Really hope my local government can be open enough to embrace e-cigs...

Some safety standards would be nice. Choose your juice vendors carefully. Someone in New Members Forum was just complaining about the ban in Singapore, "Hi From France" thread. I disagree with any government that bans e-cigs and allow cigarettes. Did you know there's a SG Vapers forum for vapers from Singapore?
