Hey guys! I'm new to the vaping scene and am just about to order my first set up but I'm lost as to what battery to get. I'm going to get a Kanger Protank 3. I want a battery that has a decent use time, maybe a 1000mah or more? I thought about the Evod batteries but I really don't like how long they are. Any suggestions on one that isn't so long? Thanks!

Simple physics, given the current state of battery technology, the longer the run time between charges, the bigger the battery.

MVP2 is a fine choice for a VV/VW package with really high capacity, but it's a box shape that not all like. (But it's not nearly as big as you'd think from the online pics, about the size of a pack of cigs.)

Otherwise, the 1100 to 1300 Spinners are the way to go for VV. But too long for your tastes? Not much else to pick from with longish run times.

welcome and congrats, so you looking for the whole device or just the battery to power the mod. I use 30 + 35 amp continuous batteries and love the available power they have, Sony VTC4's and Efest Purple's are great, they are about 2100 and 2500 mah's, so pretty decent vape time to be had.

If looking for an ego style, well not much help there, but did see one a few weeks ago that was 15 watt capable, that looked like a ok entry level ego style. Might also want to check out the MVP 2, very popular around these parts, but wouldn't own one personally, only puts out 11 watts.

Good luck, on your vape queast!

Vape long and Prosper!!!

You'll find that ecigs are a lot like cell phones. At first you may find the size rather daunting, but you get used to it fairly quickly.

Even though they are only 800 mAh, the iTazte VV v3's are really nice. Not only are they variable voltage/wattage, it is a great way to get familiarized with the differences in different voltages without doing a lot of math. Holding both of the buttons down on the display will show you number of puffs you've taken on this charge (lasts me about 280 six second long puffs per charge), the resistance of your atomizer, and the "suggested" voltage for that particular atomizer. I also like that you can see it is time to charge before you are out and about with a suddenly dead battery. You can see it here:

Innokin iTaste VV/VW V3

A lot of people on the board seem to be pretty down on the eVic, but I love mine. I know 6 or 7 people who use them, and I've never heard any complaints. I plan to keep using mine until I have the spare change for a Provari. It's kind of idiot proof, easy to experiment with, and provides a smooth, steady vape at whatever voltage/wattage I choose to use.

Honestly, I'm not sure exactly what I want lol I've never seen the evod in person but it looks so long from the pictures. It was attached to a mini protank 2 on the picture so that may have been why :) there is so much it's kind of overwhelming. I've been reading and reading across this forum and anywhere I can and I'm starting to understand most of it. I wanted to go to a shop and look but the closest is just over an hour away and none around me carry kanger products. Any insight in to what I should be looking for would be great :D

Welcome to the board from another new vaper and fellow Virginian. Don't be scared by the size of the MVP 2. I was and bought a Itaste V3 instead. Have been wishing I bought the MVP lately. Don't get me wrong, the V3 is fine but I think the MVP would actually fit in a shirt pocket better and has better battery life. Probably a bit tougher too. There sure seem to be alot of folks on here (that know a whole lot more than me) that recommend them. Where on the East Coast of Va are you? There's quite a few B&M store down here.

You should really consider the MVP 2.0, as it's on sale lots of places right now for $38 to $40. You're probably thinking it's huge and you don't want to carry it around, but it's worth trying for $40 IMO even if you only use it at home and carry a different one.

The Innokin VV3 is a nice portable one that goes for around $20 to $30 I believe and it's not a box mod it's small and tube shaped (rounded square sorta)

I'm not necessarily and Innokin fanboy, there's many others I'm planning to buy, those just happen to be some really nice VERY beginner friendly mods that are selling way underpriced at the moment in my opinion.

I'm about an hour from Newport news area and an hour from Richmond, right between the 2 towards the coast. I grew up on the middle peninsula and live about 45 minutes from there now.

I'm not really sure about price. I don't want to spend a lot for my first set up. I'm looking at around $40 to get 2 Protank 3s, like $7 more for the airflow control valves, and another $10 for extra atomizers. That puts me at about $60 now and i said I was comfortable with $100 but i don't mind going over some. I would need a charger for the battery too if those don't come with one. I definitely want 2 batteries. I'll try and look at those 2 batteries here in a minute when I get a few minutes at work.

For $40, I'd say get the http://101vape.com/variable-voltagewattage-devices/148-innokin-itaste-mvp-v20.html. It is a pass-through, too, so you can use it while you charge. However, if you want two batteries and can stretch your budget by around $12, I'd get 2 of the Innokin iTaste VV (V3) Express kit - 101 Vape (these are also pass-through). Both come with a charging cord (although you'll need a plug if you want to plug them into the wall). The MVP2 also comes with an iClear30 clearomizer (not my favorite, but other people love them).

I really like the look of the spinner and the itaste, looks like the spinner has a higher mah. I'm not really liking the square look of the mvp lol I can totally see how it's the best for the money though. The itaste looked like it had a different end on it, anyone know if it's 510 and will fit on the PT3? Is one of these better then the other or are they pretty even?

Also, I think the PT3 comes with 2.5ohm atomizers, are these a good resistance to start with or should I be looking for a lower one?
