Hmm ... well, I was one of the people who posted about lighting up after a few days and finding the analog to be disgusting. It was certainly not meant to make anyone feel bad. Just posting my personal experience which was even quite shocking to me. Even though I've had that experience I've still had an analog here and there. It's a tough habit to break.
If you took offense to my post then I'm sorry you interpreted it that way.
I could have written that myself. Though I harbor no bad feelings toward people who still smoke, this is a simple FACT ... for most people who quit smoking, there is an awareness of the smell of tobacco smoke clinging around current smokers. It surprised me that I could tell a co-worker had just come inside from having a cigarette outside. When I was a smoker I wouldn't have even noticed. I figure that's partly because I smelled the same way, but also because after a period of not smoking, your sense of smell returns!

It's a good thing to regain your senses of smell and taste, even if some of those scents and flavors aren't completely pleasant.
I have also tried to smoke a few times since quitting. I too found the cigarette to taste horrible. That's a
good thing, and I don't see sharing that experience as being an attack on anyone. If it had tasted good to me, I might have gone back to them. But, it didn't. I could only take a few drags and put it out. Very, very good.
These things don't make me loathe cigarette smokers. Heck, when it's break time at work I go outside where the smokers gather and vape with them. Just because I say cigarette smoke is now horrible tasting, or disgusting to me, doesn't mean I've become a rabid anti-smoker. Although, I have turned a number of people onto vaping, and several of them are now ex-smokers too.
And, for what it's worth, when/if the day comes when I lose interest in this forum, I will take a cue from the single thing GWB did correctly, and I'll leave quietly.
