I'll start by saying that I've never tried St. Louis Butter Cake so I have no idea what it tastes like. I looked at the recipe for it yesterday (edit...day before yesterday) and it looks like it tastes great. So, I have no idea if the recipe I made tastes anything like it, but it's about the only thing that I have made that I can say tastes good.
I about gave up after all my flavors (Capella) arrived a couple of days ago and I was mixing away with different flavors. I made this one and tasted it and thought...eeewwww. I let it set overnight with the cap off and tried it yesterday (I know...it's hard to wait) and thought it tasted pretty good. A little too much custard for my liking though so I changed it up a little bit and mixed some more. Let it sit overnight too and have been vaping it all day today. I really like it. I'm going to make 30ml tonight and let it set longer while I use up the 18ml I made last night (I tripled the recipe). I'm hoping the batter and cookie notes will come through even stronger by then.
I had the original mix at 19%, but that was just too strong so I lowered it to 15%.
Also, I added 1 drop of caramel per 6 mls to blend together.
If anyone tweaks this by adding something or taking away, please let me know. I would love to try it. I'm thinking of adding some strawberry or lemon or maybe a little gingerbread to see what happens.
Oh, I also added a little vodka to thin it just a bit and about 6 drops of sweetener (18ml).
