I hope I'm posting this in the right forum. I never know the right place...lol
I've been looking to make a nice Peanut Butter recipe. Picked up a dram bottle of Lorann Peanut Butter and made it @ 10% single flavor in 60/40 PG/VG, no nic. I'm vaping it in a Russian on a ProVari @ 2Ω and 3.3 Volts.
The taste is OK, but of course, I want more. For lack of a better description, it needs to be richer or fuller. I've been thinking about what I could add to the recipe to help things out, but haven't had any earth shattering ideas so far.
I'm wondering also if there are other flavors that may be better than the Lorann Peanut Butter. Also been thinking about adding a touch of Chocolate to head toward a Reese kind of flavor. Either way, I'd definitely like to come up with a good Peanut Butter recipe and then I can work on the peanut butter cup concept.
Thanks for any help and ideas.....

when I made my jam sammichez recipe I didnt have peanut butter but had heard about hazelnut and caramel pulling off a decent P.B. flavor. its not spot on a spoonful of peanut butter but gets you close enough. maybe a pinch of either one of those will help to get the flavor you want. also read somewhere in a recipe that combining caps PB and another brand of PB made the best flavor . Ill try to find it somewhere and post back.

Wow..... Thank you wllmc.... Both of your posts were really helpful. I'm not quite organized enough to have stuff handy like you do....lol.
I remember seeing something about combining two PB flavors too, but hadn't come across that recipe you put up.
Now I'll need to put yet another order together for more flavors to fiddle with....What a great excuse to order more stuff....:D
At the rate I'm going, between my vanilla "quest" and now this PB tear I'm on, I'm gonna be flavor poor. I really think buying flavors is like having just one potato chip..... you can't just have one!!!
Thanks again for your help and I'll try to post back when I get more goodies to try and soup up this PB recipe......:toast:

Please no more flavor suggestions.... I'm probably in enough trouble as it is with my out of control purchasing...LOL . PB and honey does sound dang good though..... hmmmm... maybe I can add just one more flavor....
I just crack up when I look at my "lab" with all the bottles and supplies laying around. What started as just "I'm gonna give this a try" has turned into a major operation and space stealer in the house. But I'm having a ball and that's what counts, right?
I will post back but it will be a while till I get the new flavors in. BTW.... a little off topic but weren't you working on a vanilla custard recipe?

Ive kinda stop working on the FA custard flavor its pretty hard to make what Im looking for when I want that flavor and that flavor is caps vanilla custard. I have a ton of those recipes lol. Ive mixed that with a few FA flavors and liked it. thats the one I cant give up and the TFA dulce de leche. I need to get on it again. I know you have to have a giant recipe book and sweet mixing area. I see you all over the place several years back in the DIY threads lol.

Have you tried natures flavors peanut butter? they have a walnut and a coffee nut flavor too. I've been playing with combos of these myself. I keep forgetting to get hazelnut.

Whenever I see a new thread like this I see a large list of more flavors I simply must order!:p you're killin' me here people!
No, I have not. I've only tried the Lorann so far but I do have a list of flavors I'll be ordering (multiple vendors, of course) and it will be no problem to add a few more new items to it.... I may have Lorann Walnut -- will have to check inventory.
This is a wonderful opportunity (read excuse) to bolster up or increase your current selection of flavors. I'm happy to help motivate individuals by suggesting new recipes. :D
And, I have to be in the lead..... I just know it.....

I've seen more than few times posted, that Cap and TFA peanut butter at 50/50 each is "real" tasting.. now finding the right percentage in your mix is next.. prob around 12-15% - less with other flavors added... I just bought the TFA to add to my Cap and I will mix this weekend again to test this out..

I've mixed them 50/50 plenty of times as, on their own, they're both lacking. You get the creamier notes from Capella's which tends to smooth out TFA's version which, on it's own, is pretty rough freshly mixed. I didn't much care for either of them at 15% as a stand-alone, though mixing 1ml CAP w/ 1ml TFA and then placing it in the UC to blend and mix works pretty well. I used the final product at 10% and it was pretty good; much better than if they were used alone at 10%.

If you're a fan of sweetener, a bit probably wouldn't hurt and FA's MTS would probably balance things out a bit in terms of smoothing out the rougher notes of TFA completely.
