Just curious if anyone is beta testing Google Wave from the board. I got my invitation yesterday, I dont have the ability to invite anyone just yet, but its hard to test something when you dont know anyone!

Its a new thing coming out soonish, its in preview mode at the moment. Its like taking the old way of doing email, and making it brand new again. That youtube there shows a really good "scratch the surface' explanation.

They have a really long video up on the site that is a presentation and shows alot more stuff in depth. Way way better than I can explain, I'm afraid. From what I understand, it can really combine alot of things we use seperately, blogs, forums, maps, and can integrate them, making it much easier to communicate

That's pretty much how i understand it.

Yahoo has tried to integrate IM and email, but all yahoo stuff is flaky these days.

I'm not really a web developer anymore. I used to freelance with web design and development but got extremely burned out on it. Now its been a while and I don't think my brain functions in a way that would allow me to get back on the horse as far as coding languages and such.

I'm one of those people who, if I am learning something as I go, if I do not use the information on a daily basis, I'll forget everything.

I actually have google wave, invited the first batch of 20 people, took a bit for people to get accepted, but just received another 30 invintations. I haven't really found a use with it, as people that i invited just aren't using it

oh man. I dont have -any invites and I have a bunch of people I'd add if I could because it would help with a project we have going. Silly google dev team! LOL

All the people I invited, can't invite people...which seems somewhat pointless because I cant even figure out how to add people I didn't invite. Pretty much I received a wave that allowed me to invite people, but I was randomly selected. If you don't have that option I would assume that someone invited you ;P

This all started a year ago when yahoo started mergeing accounts from other companys.
Now everyone scambling to come up with the all in 1 internet for dummies. The major problem i see is everyone is going to go with there fav group. Yahoo,Google,Firefox,Myspace,Facebook,AOL, AT&T, and a few others i think. so we it will become pointless like calling circles with t-moble where you can only call people that also use t-moble(just example). it will fail for at least 5 years cause of this I think.
But who knows maybe they will put aside there differences for the betterment of the growth of the web.

Then there was Jabber. Maybe just a way for google to grab market share then add their ads We'll see ...

I've been on Google Wave, and have a few spare invites... First 7 PM's with email addresses get them.
