I just brought a genuine goon 22m rda the coils seem to be heating up far to quick.iv tried all different kinds of builds and taken the goon apart and reassembled no luck iv been using rda,s for a few years now never had this trouble it makes the vape unpleasant. coils shouldn't heat up this quick if anyone has any advice or has the same issue with the goon would be great thanks in advance.

What wire type? Kanthal, NiCr ect..
What gauge wire?
What resistance?
Are you using a regulated or mechanical power device?
If regulated what power levels?
Hi thanks for the reply I'm using the goon on the minikin v2 so regulated iv tried all different gauge kanthal 24 26 22 iv been using rda,s for a few years never had this problem even on 40w the coils are heating up to quick compared to other rda,s strange?

Check the bottom pin to make sure its not loose.

Hi Fogstar
When you say the coil is heating up to fast I have to ask on what are you basing that comment. By knowing what you are seeing/experiencing it would help us all figure out what the problem is. Most folks are questioning the obvious, the build and power in use, but with your several year's experience with RDA's I can't see that being a problem you wouldn't already be aware of. If you are noticing the heat emanating from the outside of your RDA then I would question the actual diameter of your coil and its proximity to the chamber walls. I once built a large coil for a small deck and the atty got very warm very quick.

Hi I'm using a goon 22m rda Iv tried numerous builds on it now I just put in a 3mm coil 10 wraps of gplat wire 24 gauge coming out at 0.23. I'm running the exact same build on my Kennedy and recoil rda,s all running on the same Mod minikin v2. the goon is defiantly heating up the coils much quicker compared to Kennedy and the recoil the goon itself doesn't get hot to be honest but it defiantly effects the vape. the coils heat up to quick that's not normally a bad thing but in the case it is like I said in my previous posts iv dismantled the goon and reassembled numerous times now even put a duel coil 22g kanthal wire 10 wraps not to vape just to test they even heated up really quick. I'm lost to be honest iv contacted custom vapes where I purchased it see what they have to say if you have any thoughts that would be appreciated

Well my thoughts are simply that the atty itself dosen't cause the coil to heat any faster or slower though its airflow may impact it a bit. The atty's themselves (excluding their coils) offer little to nothing in the way of electrical resistance from one to the next so your problem dosen't sound as though it can be the Goon's problem. So if it has nothing to do with the size and location of the coil then it must come back to the coil itself and the amount of power it is given.

Thanks for your input iv received a email back from custom vapes apparently some of the goons have faulty contact plates so there sending me out a new one hopfully problem sorted all the best.
