So I got a Joye 510T kit + a bottle of 18mg e-juice yesterday and so far the transition from analoges has been sucessful. My main problem is the low amount of vapor and slightly harsh taste. I've tried not to draw too hard and hold the vapor for as long as possible. Do I understand correctly that a reasonable next step would be trying a cartomizer/atomizer? i would switch to cartomizers if i were you, once you get the hang of them they're pretty consistant and i haven't had any burnt taste since.

You could have a wicking problem. Have you tried Cartomizers?
As small as your batteries are you need to stick with 3ohm. Something like this will work for you.

I dropped a few drops onto the protruding part inside the atomizer. Didn't make much difference. How about the following 2.6Ohm horizontal cartomizer: 510 Bottom Coil 2.6 ohm Cartomisers - Black / stainless
Is 2.6Ohm pushing it for a 150mAh battery?

New stuff might have a burned taste for the 1st few hits , it's the coating they sometimes use .
Try drawing a little harder too , I'm wondering when you draw too slow if you "overcook" the juice .
How much did you used to smoke per day ? Perhaps this nic level is too high for you , maybe the juice is harsh tasting no matter what .
If you didn't smoke too much before maybe you need to start at 12mg nic, You could order a couple of sample packs ,one at 18 & one at 12.

This did help, while doing this I realized I had done this earlier without thinking about it.
I would suggest a cartomizer for sure i started on a ego t kit and hated the tank system. Maybe even get a stardust clearomizer or a vivi nova. I was using them for ages and never had any trouble with wicking

Ordered a Boge 2.6Ohm 5-pack after seeing PBusardos vs Kanger review. Will report back.
I think that will help. Also, as has been said before, get some juice with at least 30% VG in it. The VG is what makes the most vapor.
