Got A Problem

I'm using a new Hello016T PV. I tried a dual core cartomizer last night, and used it for a few vapes today. The battery is now dead...I think. I've just put it in the charger, and the light is not red, but green. I assume this means that the battery is not charging???? Help...I've only one spare battery.

Try wiggling the centre battery post(manual battery) up a bit, the dual coil might have pushed it down when connected last.

Maybe just the center post is pushed down from the dif style carto.... try to gently pull the center post up a bit with a Pin or Dental pick(quite common in a vapers tool bag)... Hope that helps.

I just tried that....the light is still green, so still not charging. I tried putting my other battery on there, and the light is reading green on that one as well. I tried the USB port on the computer...still only a green light.

Nothing works on the dead battery...have tried a single coil cartomizer...nothing. We do have a voltage meter, that we use to check batteries. How do I check the charger or battery with that?

These duals are not a good idea on an Ego or clone like a Hello.Like any lr addy or carto you take a chance that they will fry your bats.You need a 14500 or higher bat for these.I think you have fried your battery;( NOTE: Will not work with eGo, 510, 901 or mosfet driven type batteries. The Dual Coil should to be used with 3.7 volt mods with a switch capable of handling 2 or more amps. This is from the COV website.

Odd...I used the dual cartomizer on the other battery. Is it possible to fry one battery and not the other? Is it possible that the charger itself is not working. When I plug in the charger, with no battery, the portion that the battery screws into has a green light. Shouldn't it be red?

I've just started vaping on Tuesday and I'm such a newb at all of this. I expect I shall have to head out for a package of cigs until I get this sorted out...

Fundimentally, what you are doing is using the battery over or very near its limits. That means
the due to manufacturing variances, some batteries will be able to handle the load and some will not.

When you use any device at or over its operating limits, there is no guarantee that it will work. Sometimes, you
will get lucky and it'll work fine. Sometimes, not so much.

That's the chance you take when you do that.

Good chance charger is bad. A vaping friend's you might use briefing just to see if you can get a red? I've had them fail on me. Have a spare. If fact, being new, may be worthwhile to buy a second kit. Would recommend a Riva Lite Bundle at about 30 bucks. Would get you share USB charger and wall transformer. You will eventually need everything in the kit even if your only current problem is bad USB charger. (You might tap plugged in bat and charger lightly - like in palm of other hand. At times that as got me to a red even though initially a green.) But even if you get it working, share is wise IMO. A share, without kit, maybe less than cost of pack of cigs.

The worst thing about it all is that I've had to buy cigs as I know I don't have enough battery to get me through until I can get a spare...I'm trying to see it as just using a different delivery system, and not regressing....

At madvapes the Hello 016 is cautioned not to use attys or cartos with less than 2.5 ohms. The eGo listed at madvapes is cautioned for less than 2.0 ohms. I think madvapes is known for being extra cautious with their warnings, the difference, though, between 2.5 for the 016 and 2.0 for the ego says something.

If the dual coils you were using are smoktech cartos then it is possible to use with an ego batt covered off in an earlier post (a page or two back now). But the 2.5 ohm warning may make using dual coils prohibative with the hello 016. Since the dual coils come in various ohms, even up to 2.5, which are you using Sharon?

But it sounds more like a charger issue in this case but the problem isn't really known until you can get another adaptor to test with.

The dual I used is a dual cartomizer for the 510.....1.5ohms.

once you've sorted out the charger issue or gone to another other solution, you could use these dual coils on the hello 016 by snipping the wire loop that you see when popping the carto end off for filling. The 2 coils are wired in parallel and are 3.2 ohms each so by cutting the one wire it will leave the carto with one coil at 3.2 ohms rating. Vapor won't be as much but it will still be functional.
Comparitively the snipped wire 1.5 smoktech would be like Smok Tech 3.2 ohm 510 Cartomizers

Thanks kalvin...I'll probably stick to regular cartomizers, just in case. I didn't purchase the double coil, as it came with my package.

It sounds like there is a problem with the connection between your battery and your charger.

The first thing to do when you see this is to clean the threads on both the battery and the charger with a bit of rubbing alcohol. Clean both well - in case there is a bit of eliquid leakage preventing the connection.

Then charge via a wall outlet (you get stronger, more consistent power input that way). Even if the light is green on the charger - keep it charging for 2 to 3 hours. Occasionally the LED lights on chargers don't work the way they should.

After a couple hours take the battery off the charger and set it up with the atomizer that came with and give it a try. If it works - then your problem is the LED light on the charger. This may reset on it's own or it may be permanently stuck - but at least you'll know whether it works.

If this doesn't work - it's always a good thing to contact the vendor and ask for further assistance - let them know what you've done and the results - it helps to know what steps to take next.
