In the past, I've had two different Li-Ion battery chargers that would only charge correctly if I placed the batteries in the un-corded charger, plugged in the cord and THEN plugged in the cord to the charger base.

It made no sense to me, but it worked. I have, however, replaced those chargers with ones that work as intended properly since we are talking about electronics and charging potentially dangerous batteries if not done properly.

Hope you get your issues sorted dano-bri, so you can start enjoying your vaping experience !

I want to remind people, to please be nice in your posts & responses. There's always a 'correct' way to ask or suggest for something to be done without being rude or offensive. Not 'everyone' out there is up on forum etiquettes however can be swayed politely to conform to the norm. ECF will NOT accept members being abrasive to one another, both at the forefront nor the retort. PLAY NICE !

something weird going on there 4 charges dont usually quit one after another, i think there must be something wrong with the outlet causing it to kill the charger. it may not be affecting the ego-t charger. are you sure you are inserting the battery the correct way. neggative side on the spring, with double side flat batterys may of put them in wrong?

Safer charger.
The Pila is the most highly recommended consumer charger on this and other forums. If you do get one you should be aware that the warranty is voided if used with any other than Pila batteries.

Another one that was recommended is the:
XTAR WP2 II LI-ION CHARGER

You want a charger that does not send a trickle charge to the battery after it indicates that it is charged. I don't remember if the trustfire does that.

well i decided to see if get to the bottom of this problem so i decided to take the charger apart.

so i took it apart very carefully

what i found was the positive terminal on the charger is a flimsy piece of tin that is soldered to the the circuit board and the solder connection where the positive terminal and circuit board join was broken.

i found that there is not enough support for the positive and negative terminals on the charger so when u insert your battery a few times the solder joint breaks

all the the pressure from the battery in the charger is beeing put on the solder joint on the circuit board causing a break

so these chargers are a very poor design

so i received my new charger first thing i did was stabilize the positive and negative terminals.
and will plug it in a surge protector

so now lets see how long it will last

its not the batteries

i have a multimeter
OK then so did you test the charger with it, is there current running through? And if yes then the bats are not making contact with the charger, if you know they are good. Because you bought the bats new does not mean they are good, have seen China MGF refurbish used bats, and sold as new, just saying Beware of China products.

there was no current running through the charger, thats why i took it apart to look for the problem

the charger comes from china maybe its refurbished

besides the solder joint beeing broke, the 2 wires that run inside the electrical cord looked pretty scary it looked like used wire

the plastic casing that covers the wire didnt look new it almost looked like it was used

The vendor needs to have those chargers all replaced from the MFG he bought them from, and give you a partial refund for the charger if he can not replace it with a decent one, so you can buy one that works. I just bought one on ebay from China that is pretty nice, chargers 4 bats independently, and has a trickle charge also.
