I've been a dedicated Reo Grand user for almost 2 years now. The convenience and build quality are my top reasons, not to mention the support crowd here. Now my question is....How come a little Ego battery will make an atty(Cisco 1.5 306) run hotter than a Reo with an 18650 IMR? I just recently switched juices and my new choice needed more warmth to make it vape right and the Reo just wasnt doing it, even with a fresh off the charger (4.19v) battery. I pulled out one of my 2 year old ego that hasnt been charged in forever and it's all nice and warm, perfect actually. What could possibly be doing this?
I clean the firing pin once a week and put a dab of noalox on it's tip, clean the spring at the same time. It fires everytime, it just doesnt feel like it's pushing full power through.

It really shouldn't? The old ego batts are only 3.4v... I think? I believe off the charger there only around 3.7-3.8v? I could be wrong but that's what I seem to remember. Maybe your 18650 is worn out? If you have an in-line voltage tester you could see what the voltages are under load between the two. But in all reality the 18650 should be warmer than the ego. as the 18650 provides the higher voltage... IMO

Its possible there is a lose connection .
1 Check your spring screw
2 You can remove the feed tube take the black insert out .
use a flat head screw driver to hold the center pin in place use a small pair of pliers to turn the feed tube clockwise to tighten the connection .Try to not push down on the center pin to hard you can damage the center pin gasket .
If your not comfortable doing this send it to me I will go through it and make sure its running properly

PWM is the answer !,but you should still be able to get a great vape off the mechanical Reo. The all new VV Grand will never let you down, and that's a fact :) a good set of electronics in a Mod just tops a mechanical mod, just my opinion. The VV Grand is a Beast :2cool:

I'm not buying the PWM (Pulse width modulation) especially with a 2 year old ego batt.

First I would like to know if it was really and ego (hard plastic button)
Or a Riva with the soft rubber button?

in 2010 there was a huge difference in the two. The riva also called a DSE eGo were a true 4.2v device and compared equal to the Grand with an AW 18650 Black batter and a touch hotter than AW IMR batts.

But a true eGo back then were not even in the same league. Very weak in comparison.

So I would say its one of two things:

1) there is a problem with your Grand and you should send it to Rob for a checkup and tune up.

2) your new juice actually likes lower voltage to taste right and your mistaking the "heat"

It could be. Isn't that why joye uses a two resistors and mofset? The oldest joye ego I have handy is from the first run of ego-t with the 5 click off. It's PWM. I can't use a regular voltmeter to check the voltage on it.

Yes it uses PWM, I was saying I'm not buying that it makes it better than an 18650.
I can't say for new egos because the last ones I bought were 2010 but back then they weren't even close in performance.
