I'm a packrat when it comes to old broken electronics, and my moms threw away this broken clock, I was gonna make an EGO stand with the frame part of it and have it like an arc on its side with vertical holes. I think the material on the rear might make the perfect thing for this, its only about 3/16ths of an inch so maybe a little too thin, but maybe I could stack two sheets if it.. That stuff looks really nice, if it's a "bowl blank" that means they cut it into a bowl? Sounds cool. Yeah I like stuff like this. Clockfront.jpgClockrear.jpg

This is exactly the size I'm looking to make. Will you tell me the diameter of this block and the thickness please?

It is approx. 2 1/4" high by 4 1/2" wide at the top (5" at the widest part). The best part is that it's at Home Depot (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Foster-Decorative-Millwork-5-in-Round-Pine-Bun-Foot-2731/202287720 ). Go to the moulding/millwork aisle and look in the shelves under the vertically stacked base board and crown material. You should see table legs, plinth blocks, etc. It comes with a lag screw inserted on the bottom, so just take pliers and un-screw to remove it. Enjoy.

Here is another shot of it. It looks a lot better than this crappy cell phone picture suggests.

Not sure who you are referring to, but for mine: 3/4" with a 5/16" down the center (to accommodate the 510 tip) for the ProTanks and 1" for the Sigelei in the center. I wanted to use a 7/8" for the center, but the Sigelei was just a bit too snug in there. I highly recommend Forstner bits since they will leave a flat bottom as opposed to other bits. Forstner bits do require a drill press however as Forstner bits do tend to travel with a hand drill.

Of course, other PV's, clearo's, tanks, etc. may require different sized bits. Just measure the width of the device and go up a hair on the bit size.

beautiful work all of you. I cant wait to post pics of my new stand.

OP : I love the idea of using 510 connectors to hold the atomizers instead of just drilling holes. I was designing a something similar just last night but couldnt decide between a store bought 510 connector or threading some brass tube so the atomizers would sit flush

I REALLY appreciate you sharing this and responding. Clearly many others do too. I have a Home Depot 1/2 mile from my job that will be getting a visit tomorrow

You are most welcome. We are all here to help each other out. ;)

I used this for the layout six sided star - Bing Images . I just printed it out and overlayed it on to my block to make my marks.

The only other tip I can give is to get those adhesive round felt pad cut outs for the center hole. It adds a little cushion for your PV. Take care.

OP: did you use basic 510 to 510 connectors in there? Wood glue before placement, or just tapped into a snug holelike a dowel?

All great stands and ideas. I'm going to have to get started on one of these soon. Mine will likely look like yours had a baby together!

Thanks for the inspiration.
