This is a simple cartridge mod. You need a cartridge, a toothpick, a pair of scissors, and a very small amount of aquarium tubing.
1. Remove the filler from the cartridge using the toothpick.
2. Insert the aquarium tubing into the cartridge until it hits the bottom.
3. Cut the aquarium tubing reasonably level with the top.
4. Fill cartridge (tubing) using dropper.
5. Put the cartridge in your mouth and blow through it.
If you are going to store the cartridge, cap it loosly, and don't store on the cap.
(This will also work with nebulizer tubing, and the ends will make DIY drip tips if you cut off the tubing, or only leave a little bit of tubing. I don't know how well the drip tips work, because I've never used a drip tip.)
I've only been e-smoking for 2 weeks, and I just did the mod a couple of days ago with nebulizer tubing. Someone was throwing out a bunch of brand new tubing, and I couldn't see it go to waste. I looked in Wal-Mart and the aquaring tubing seemed to be the same size.
This mod works well for me. You can judge for yourself.

I'm assuming the concept here is that the tubing will act like the ZFM mod... the bridge would take up the opening of the tubing and let the juice wick slowly to the bridge...

where the ZFM is a silicone plug that uses the bridge to open the plug...this is more like a silicone tube that would press down over the bridge...

the two problems I see are a making sure the tubing is silicone (so it doesn't burn) and the fact that putting airline tubing in a cart will reduce the capacity by a lot...

Sorry, I'm not talented enough to take pics.
I don't know how much difference in capacity there is, once you take into account that the filler takes up space, too.
The two obvious advantages over a standard cart are that you can top fill, and you don't have to replace the filler material.
This seems to vape better for me. My theory is that the juice is concentrated in a small area and not so diffused. (Perhaps, it's concentrated like a carberator in a car.) Obviously, I'm not great on scientific or mechanical principles. Since I'm new to vaping, we can't rule out, "It's just my imagination", unless someone more experienced tries this. And, since it's my first post and I can't put it in cart mods where it belongs, the odds of that happening may be rather slim.
I did take a couple of days to try to work out the bugs. If you don't blow through the mouthpiece before you use it, it seems to work like a straw for the first few hits. And I don't understand this at all: You can hold it upside down and blow through it and the liquid won't leak out. However, if you actually touch the tip to something it leaves a small amount of liquid. That's why I recommended not putting the lid on tight and not storing it on the lid.
I'm a newbie. This is my first post. That's everything I know. And, I really don't have anyone more knowledgable or experienced to give me any more information.

Hey if it works for you use it !
I don't think I have seen the "ZFM mod" (no link) unless it's the one using a piece of qtip or 1.5mm tube on the side.

Myself I use a dissecting needle !
Run it down both sides of the cartridge.
One side will go deeper.
I just make a little more air passage on that side and forget the tubes.

To each his own though.

@Yafacila

First off I'd like to say please don't take any of this as an attack, I appreciate you sharing, and we all welcome you to the site!

That being said, in order for us to fully consider your tubing tip, we need a little more info.

I think your terms are a little confusing. Top filling would be dropping juice down the end that goes to your lips. Have you bored out the side that goes to your lips and inserted the tubing through? By "don't store on the cap," are you saying don't store them vertically? What lid are you referring to? Are you referring back to the silicone end-cap?

Since you don't have a picture, please help us imagine what you are talking about a little better.

For instance:
What model e-cig are you using?
Is the tubing actually making contact with the bridge/wicking, or does a droplet form and touch the bridge?

A little more detail would help to clarify what you mean.

***Edit***

@ Nowhereman, here is a link to the zero filler method cart mod

from what i read ( i used the straw mod and blue foam also ) is that after people try all these mods and find that they get inconsistent results, they start dripping, it works and is fairly consistent.

lately i have switched to cartomizers because they work better for me and hold more ejuice

James

August 04 smoked 00 cigs, 40 less than my usual 40 cigs a day 3238 cigarettes not smoked in 93 days by using Stonewall, Joye 510, Hello 016, Ken's BoxMod, MadVapes 2xAA Box Mod, WetBox Vaporizer (ecig) and 19 bottles of ejuice partially used , $0.28 per cig X 3238 Cigs = $906.64 diverted from cigarettes to Vaporizer (ecig). OMG I have spent over $2025.59 in 92 days on this stuff but bare in mind that my old cigarette cost was $330 a month, using snus right now ( General White Portion Mint )

they have to be kidding, no?

from:
thevapormall faqs

How long does an electronic cigarette last?

Electronic cigarettes can last from six month to one year depending on how well it was cared for. The most harmful practice that will severely damage your electronic cigarette is excessive eLiquid use. DO NOT apply more than one drop to your cartridge at a time. If more than one drop of eLiquid is used at once, the risk of leakage and permanent damage to your electronic cigarette is inevitable. Damage sustained by excessive eLiquid leakage is not covered by the warrantee.

when i was dripping i would put 3 drops in the atomizer, why use a cart at all if only using one or two drops?

don't worry...I understand what you're trying to get across...
the reasoning behind blowing into it would be a vapor lock kind of thing where for the liquid to flow you need to exchange it with air...kinda like holding your finger on the end of a straw and the liquid stays in...but if you blew up the tube or moved your finger it'd flow...

and yeah it's kinda like the ZFM mod...only simplified...and yeah unfortunately you'd lose quite a bit of capacity doing this than some of the other mods because of the thickness of airline tubing..

Hey if it works for you use it !

.

here's the ZFM thread....it's advances well beyond where it started..
Norway's 'Doomsday Vault' holds seeds of survival - Europe, World - The Independent

but basically what the OP here has is something like the 5th picture in post 1 of that thread....but the tube itself acts as the straw that would support the silicone plug normally

So basically the no filler mod..without the top. using rubber tubing instead of a straw.

exactly....well mostly...the rubber tubing acts as the straw and the plug...because of the wall thickness of the tubing itself and the tubing coming all the way flush with the cart...

I would like to thank you all very much for making me feel so welcome. I'm not much of a group person. I'm more of a library person. I only posted because I thought I had something to share. I thought since I had to post in the beginner section, the modders wouldn't see it and the beginners wouldn't care. Maybe, one or two people would look at the post at best. Most likely, the moderaters would say mods are an inappropriate topic for beginners, and ask me to post an introduction. I was so amazed that I looked to see if someone had mentioned this in the cart mod section.
So, now I want to ask you to do me a favor. The cartridge mod section moved from the mod section. I didn't think to look for it in a section it's never been in. I thought to look in the section it's always been in. Well I had to wade through the posts to find the one that said it was moving. Since this is only my third post, and I can't do it, will someone please go bump the post that said the cart mod section was moving and ask the mods to make it sticky or make an announcement so when people go looking for it where it has always been, they know where to find it. Thank you.
You are all correct. It's just simply, remove cap, remove filler, insert tubing, cut off excess tubing, fill. The rest is bugs. If you don't blow through the mouthpiece before you use it you end up with a 2 or 3 spit mod. (You swallow juice for the first few puffs.) I will leave all technical explinations to the smart Ohioian (Drozd). To me it's all magic.
The second bug is more difficult. It seems to work like when you put your finger over a straw. The liquid doesn't run out, but, if you touch the end on anything, it leaves a small drop of liquid. When I put the cap back on the filter it does this tapping. Not putting the cap on too tight and resting it on the mouthpiece seems to help, but I put them in my purse and they tap, tap, tap. So there is a bit of juice in the cap. I just pour it back in, and blow, just to be on the safe side. But, some people might be bothered.
They seem to hold about 10 drops for me. Most people want increased size, but I'm just happy that I don't have to refill the filler material when it goes bad, and I don't have to use a needle to fill it. I can fill from the juice bottle.
