got kayfun lite+ today! problems

Hi i received my kayfun lite+ from cloud9 vapors uk shipped -> US got it in alittle more than a week. I build a 28g micro giving me 1.7ohm and cotton as the wick. All my cotton is boiled CVS' sterile rolled absorbent cotton. Anyways i'm having afew problems. Firstly it gurgles and keeps leaking juice through the air hole, and it gets all over my mod. Secondly Im vaping 6mg melon boba from goodlife and the nic feels too strong for my throat and is making me sick. Is this normal for kayfun? i dont want to down nic t-t

1. How are you filling it, from the top or using the bottom screw port?

2. Are you filling it completely up, or are you leaving a "bubble" of air in the tank?

i filled it from the bottom completely full ;o

3. how do you have the airflow adjusted?
tight/hard will possibly force the coil chamber to flood when you are pulling on it hard

The Kayfun is a vacuum system tank and it must bleed out the air to work efficiently. So after filling it place some paper towels down and lay the mod on its side so that the air intake can bleed out. It takes no longer then 15 mins. place the air hole down facing the paper towels. This should fix the leaking juice and the gurgle.

As for the nic, modern atomizers like the Kayfun (and the Russian, and many genesis-style attys) are much more efficient at vaporizing nicotine than, for example, a Protank or a carto ... this means that you most likely WILL get more of a nicotine hit using these high-efficiency devices. That's why it is generally recommended to cut your nic level by about half when using them. Seeing as how you are already at 6mg, you don't have much room to cut!

I tried it with the air control screw off. I prefer a tighter draw so i screwed it back on. comparable to a 1.1/3 mm hole.

I'll give that a try

after trying this it's seem to work without leaking better

i found the only time the KF's leak is if the wick isnt set up correctly. too little in most cases. or not over the channels correctly.

I was wondering about that, too. I wick my Russian micros like I do the PT's, just enough to fit in without dragging the coil over when I slide it in the coil (after rolling it between fingers), leaving the tails long enough to stuff into the gaps on each side of the chamber below the coil and fill it up. Any less and I'd expect the chamber to fill up.

And that air flow adjustment is the ratio of air to juice, I've had too much of both before I learned how to tweak it and find the sweet spot.

You say you tightened the draw, I kinda expected you'd need to loosen it a little, but, hey, I'm still tweaking mine. And, yes, it'll deliver the flavor and nic better than anything you've likely tried, although 6 is pretty low. You must be hitting it pretty hard.

Yeah it will break in a bit over time and tend to get less harsh. (Or perhaps I got use to it, in any event time has helped)

It's really a great vape, because it looks great on everything, works consist and I have never had an issue of it leaking while in my pocket. It's an on the go atty and has really set a new standard for the RTA. (Rebuild-able Tank Atomizer) It's a preview of the future of vaping and it's going to lead to new innovation, which will help those addicted to tobacco find a safer alternative.

Who delivered it? I'm waiting for a cloud9 shipment to the US. just curious. old thread, i know.
