I did a search on ‘kayfun Lite’ and ‘leak’, but didn’t find anything that addresses my issue which is this:

Having originally assembled the kayfun Lite with the plastic window, most times upon filling it (through the screw hole as recommended) the liquid would just pour through the tank and out of the mouthpiece. I would have to bung it with tissue paper to prevent the leak. This despite all components being tightly screwed together. I actually bought two Kayfun Lites and the same thing happened on both.

After a while, the plastic window became scratched and no longer screwed in properly, so I replaced it with the metal component. As a result, the leaks are now much less frequent but still occasionally occur. Has anyone else had the same problem?

(Note, this has nothing to do with the leak caused by a poorly positioned coil)

Build your coil, wick it and get the thing ready to fill. Put it all together. Cover the air inlet hole in the base ring with your finger and try to draw through the drip tip. ANY air leakage is not OK, it should be air tight. Check all of your o-rings, particularly the one in the cap that fits over the top chimney as others have said. If there are no air leaks, fill it. It will not leak. Promise.

Oh, and fill it from the bottom. They put that fill thingy there for a reason.

Me too, as the plastic tank does not come with these pre installed.
I don't use the fill screw port. As far as your fill problems, I fill from the top. Much easier and less waste.

There's also the small o-ring that sits in the top cap that the chimney seats in. It will usually come out with the chimney when disassembled.

I've had no trouble filling from the bottom.

That was my first thought, mine falls out almost every time I take the tank apart. It is right under the drip tip inside the tank. Also overfilling will force juice into the coil chamber to leak out of the DT if your bottle makes a air tight seal on the fill hole.

I just received my kayfun clone about a month ago but have had minor leaking problems out of the screwhole. I found that putting a little vaseline on all orifices (minus the airhole) and on all the thread helps it seal better. Plus, I top fill (plugging the airhole, filling in the smoke stack, lightly screwing the top part on, then turning upside down and releasing the air hole)

Not sure if I'm explaining that one correctly, I saw it on a youtube video on Kayfun, will post if you guys want.

Just to confirm that Coalyard's test is really useful. And that all the fittings, including the o-ring but also the screwed components have to be fitted together very tightly. And indeed it works! Although I do think that the plastic component damages too easily; for the price, shouldn't a pyrex one be provided ?
