Hello everyone. I now have my ecig and (some 510 model) using a dual cart. and some flavored juices. I can't really taste the flavors. Why is that? Its carmel cheesecake. I am using 16 level nic. I am having trouble not inhaling like a reg cig. and end up coughing when I do. Also almost get a burning sensation. Its going away on the 16 nic., but I tried apple flavor in 24 and it just burned. Couldn't taste any flavor at all. Is that from smoking reg cigs? ( I have had 3 today.) I just read about how to vape correctly in the beginers tutorals, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. I still want to enhale though. Also read where you will vape more due to the amount of nic in this compaired to reg cigs. But I feel like I keep vaping and I'm still getting craving for reg cigs. Can someone give me some feed back? Please and thank you!!!!

My first question would be how much you are filling the carto. When you fill your cartomizer make sure that the material is saturated - the top should look like a slushie. You need to put in enough juice to make it saturated but do not want pooling or bubbling on top. The second question I have would be the type of juice you are vaping. I like 80PG/20VG for cartos. From what I gather 100%VG can be thick for cartos. Finally, if it is truly the juice, you may want to check out some of the reviews here to see what flavors people like. It took me months to find juices that were flavorful enough for me.

Hope that this helped. The real experts will chime in shortly, I'm sure.

As much as I love dual coil cartomizers, some of my lighter juices just don't stand up to the DCC.

I have a peach juice that's much better in a boge 2.0, even a 2.5 which I never see anymore or a 3.0. Stronger flavors like my menthol are great with dual coil or 1.7 cartos.

Burning-- make sure you have enough juice in your carto. DCC burn quickly without enough juice.

Coughing-- It's hard to explain to another person how to vape. My sister coughed her head off too and she was a heavier smoker than I was. I got her some very low nicotine juice to practice with.

I did the same thing when I filled my first carto. You may be coughing because the carto wasn't full and it burned. Try filling it using the condom method and the taryn spin (watch on utube if you haven't already) and make sure it's saturated top to bottom. Sometimes it's better to let it sit for a while to make sure that you've got it right.

IMHO this could be what happened. Try this on a new carto as you may have possibly burned the one you're working with.

I'm not the most experienced here but I've probably made every mistake there is. If I'm not accurate, please correct me vets!

I had the same problem with the inhaling and cough. I do not know if you have a manual battery or not. I only have experience with a manual. Anyway, here is how I fixed my problem: assume the position, push the button, hold for about (2) seconds or so ( until you here a sizzle ), while still holding the button in, slowly and easily pull the vape into your mouth with your tongue (like pulling soda through a straw) for just a few seconds (short pull is best to start out, you can try longer later), let off the button and continue to pull into your mouth for a few seconds , inhale into your lungs. I exhale through my nose in order to get more nic. Experiment with this process until you get the feel of how much and how long to do it. This worked well for me. I hope it helps.

I purchased a joyetech ego-t type a as my first e-cig because they are supposed to be one of the most user friendly units around. I have since upgraded to the type-b ego-t which is even more user friendly with only two fill-ups per day for a two pack a day analog smoker i quit as soon as my ego-t arrived in the mail, no cravings at all, and great flavor!!!

try 36 mg nic! and try different vendors, not all juices are equal

Would have to agree that not all juices are equal. I have used quite a bit of Tasty Vapor's liquid, which tastes pretty good, and inexpensive. Made in USA also is a plus. Some of the Chinese juices I have tried don't seem to have as good a flavor, and seem a bit harsher. I have been wondering about Copper Creek juice. Anyone tried that? Looking for some feedback.

To the original poster, I have been vaping now for roughly six months. It has turned into somewhat of a hobby. There is so much out there to experiment with. Every now and then, I have some analogs, and they tend to aggrivate my throat, which makes me cough when vaping. Give yourself some time to heal, and the cough should go away. Trust me when I tell you it is worth the effort. Saves some money and saves your health!

Delirium, am I understanding correctly you think you should NOT inhale vape, but you did/do inhale cig smoke?
If you don't inhale the vape, how you going to get the nicotine your body has grown dependant upon?

I'm also a newb, but I have to tell you, the first 4 days of vaping, I still smoked cigs. However, it was less than half as much as I did before vaping. On day 5, I just found cig taste to be nasty and have not gone back. What vaprhed describes below is how I do it.

P.S. most of "taste" is actually smell.... exhaling thru nose will give you more. And, using vaprhed's technique, but puffing more and letting some out of your mouth to rise into your nostrils helps too.
