Greetings everybody!

Stalking the mailman paid off in spades today. Got the Echo, the Elite 808 and juices from Backwoods Brew.

Hopefully if any newbies are reading this, you will take seriously the advice of the veterans here to try MOSTLY non-tobacco flavored juices.

Unfortunately I was hard headed and was sure that I wanted tobacky flavors so that's what most of my juice orders consisted of. Mistake #1.

I meant to order a syringe but forgot. Mistake #2. Filling the cartos from these little bottles is a pain in the wazoo. One of the bottles was so hard to squeeze to get a drop out that I finally just gave up. The only ones that weren't bad were the ones from Vermillion River because they come with an eyedropper. That was cool, eh?

Note to self, don't handle little glass bottles with juice on fingers. They're slippery little suckers and will spill all over your desk.

So tomorrow I will be ordering all types of juices, but none with tobacco flavoring. Will also get some of the lower nicotine levels since the throat hit on both of these ecigs is too potent for me at 18 to 26 mgs of nicotine.

I really like the Echo. I got it more for my son thinking it would be too fat for my liking, but it's very comfortable to hold and really does work well for an automatic.

Verdict is still out on the Elite 808. It's louder than the Echo. Kind of crackles and pops. And then there's that pesky button. It's too much work. Go ahead and laugh. And yes, I admit to being slothful at times. Just one of my many shortcomings that I'm still working on along with hard headedness (see above).

If any veterans read this and have a suggestion for what to use to test juice on the Elite 808 so that I don't have to fill a 2mil carto, I would be forever grateful.

Happy vaping to you all!
Gloria

Backwoods Brew I believe is a house extracted tobacco. I wouldn't give up on all tobacco flavors from that one purchase. There is a difference between house extracted and tobacco imitating juices. For example I have some tobacco flavors that are house extracted that I love whereas when I try to DIY with tobacco flavorings that many vendors use I can't get a concoction that I can stand. Can I ask what you didn't like about these? I am always here to take those off your hands....LOL :vapor: Never tried those yet. I've heard really good things about Virgin Vapors flavors among others.

Hi Gloria,
my throat hurt for the first couple of days. I had ordered 18 mg, like you. After the 2nd day, I had ordered all these low nicotine juices and they were too weak. I went back to 18 mg.
Glad you got your stuff!

I use the "condom" method to fill. Much quicker and more even than dripping. Put about 10 drops in the cap that came with the cartos, put the screw end of the carto on the cap, push down slowly. Repeat if necessary. Not sure what cartos you got, but with the XL ones I have to do it at least twice.

Hi shilohcalista,

Thanks for your input!

I also tried a tobacco flavor from Vermillion River. No likey. They somehow taste perfumey to me.

I did however like a menthol flavored one that I got for my son, and I don't even smoke menthol.

If you would like the Backwoods Brew samples I would be happy to send them to you. First let me have my son try them and if he doesn't like them, no reason to keep them.

Will check out Vigin Vapors, thanks!

Those Backwoods Brew bottles are horribly slow--I hate them too. I take the smallest screw driver from my mini set (1.4 mm) and poke out the dropper tip as soon as they arrive in the mail. They work fine after that. BWB flavors need to steep, especially the tobaccos. Try them again in a few weeks they will get better. Which flavors did you get? I agree you should get a mix of flavors when new and very small sample bottles. It is difficult to predict what one might like in a vape flavor.

I don't know what you got for cartomizers, but with some of them you can pull out the stuffing and drip on the atomizer part. Getting the polyfil out can be tricky. You should probably buy an atomizer for flavor tasting.

Welcome to the forum and vaping. I hope you find something that works for you.

Hi Sandy,
We're in the same neck of the woods. I'm out near Naperville, west of Chicago. Are you in the city?

Thanks for the heads up about going back to the 18mg. I'll reconsider going lower until I've spent some more time with these.

I'm not sure if the condom method will work with either of these cartos. They don't come with plastic caps.
Still too much of a newbie to know what will work best for me.

you might want to let them sit for a couple of weeks because your taste may change after a while, I don't like any tabacco flavors unless they don't taste like tobacco like this diy flavor west chocolate tabacco I got the other day I added a few drops of FlavourArt coco and a few drops of flavor west Double Dutch Chocolate and its like chocolicious and not a hint of tabacco that I can taste.

Hi Gloria,

You'r original post was funny!!:) I also made the mistake of ordering tabacco flavors when I started vaping and it was a mistake. I didn't like the taste at all.

It's funny you mention that Vermillan River Tabacco taste perfumy. I found that to me, Backwoods Brew's tabacco juices too perfume like in taste and did not enjoy it at all where as the Vermillain tabacco flavors I found it to be perfect for me...Go figure! It's true, people's taste are different as I'm learning the hardway after spending lots of $$ trying different juices!..lol

Their Kentucky Premium Blend(KPB) and their KPB-vanilla are my favorites and ended my search after a month for my all day vape. Their customer service is great too!!

Good luck and welcome to ECF!!

peace

Back to the tobaccos, I also have heard really good things about Prime Vaping and Goodejuice.com and also those you mentioned that you didn't care for. I got a sample of GJ4 from GoodeJuice and I fell in love---one of my absolute faves now and I am as fussy as they come about tobaccos and juice in general.
