So I received my second ProVari - satin black with a blue LED. I also ordered a ZAP, and it wicks well with 80/20 juices, but it's really slow on 100% VG juices and after a few puffs, I get a really harsh, unflavored vape. Any tips on increasing the wicking? Sorry for the newb question - I'm new to Genesis attys.

You're right. The 325 is supposed to give a better throat hit. (I think ) you are tilting it aren't you?

Yeah, and I just re-wicked it using 325 and coiled it, but it's not really "transmitting" any juice. This is extremely frustrating, especially since the wick is catching on fire because of a lack of juice.

My did clone didn't really start tasting good till I soaked it in juice for awhile. Or maybe it was a coincidence. You could try that. It shouldn't be catching on fire though. I'm new to the Zap also. Wicking isn't my problem.. I'm trying to get used to the wide open draw.

Yeah the open draw is not necessarily an issue for me, but it's certainly going to take some getting used to.

As far as the fire - I just threw some 80/20 PG/VG juice in and this thing works like magic. I'll have to start purchasing juices heavier in PG now. :(

I use 70/30 PG/VG in all my mixes. Surely there are people who are using heavy VG juices in their ZAPs. Anyway, glad you got it wicking, just wish it could have been with the juice you wanted to use.

Me too! Perhaps someone will chime in with some advice on wicking 100% VG juices.

Thanks for the advice though!

The wicks that come with the ZAP use very little mesh, so there isn't much capillary action. Mine is working better since I increased the amount of mesh in a wick, I didn't measure but it looks like I have about twice as much mesh in this wick.

I wouldn't even know how to do that. I assume it involves ordering different wicks?

The one I have in now was made from the spare piece of mesh that came with my DuD. I learned how to make a wick by reading and watching you tube videos. I need to order up some mesh so I can play around with setups, but I'm pretty happy with my current setup.

Okay, thanks!

One of the reasons I choose this over others is that it comes with preoxidized, prerolled wicks, I figured that upped the value. I was thrilled not to have to mess with mesh. :glare: I'll try a thicker mesh and see what happens. This coil that came on it is so perfect and glowing so evenly, I hate to mess with it

I'm liking it more today than I did yesterday when I first got it. I'm trying to do what Zen says, take slow, deliberate draw and let the vapor come to me rather than trying to suck so hard. I'm also experimenting with different drip tips.. the narrower ones seem to work better. I have a SS pawn that is very narrow towards the top coming.
