Got new juices and can barely taste them - is it my battery?

Hi everyone,

I am new to the vaping world. I got 4 new juices in the mail yesterday and I was very excited to try them. I have tried 3 of the 4, and cannot taste them at all. Disappointing, to say the least. I won't say the company because I don't want to bash them; it could be my equipment that is the culprit.

One of the liquids is supposed to be cherry, but there was no smell to it and absolutely not a hint of cherry taste! My husband tried it (he has quit smoking for about 3 months now and doesn't even need to vape or anything-wish I had his will power), and his taste buds are better than mine because I am still smoking. HE couldn't taste anything either!

The other flavors were cinnamon roll (no taste) and shamrock shake (there is the barest hint of an aftertaste; if I didn't know what it was supposed to be I probably wouldn't have detected that much). I haven't tried the vanilla yet because I am afraid of more let-down.

I have rinsed the clearos and dry-burned the coils, so I don't think they are dirty. The batteries are fully charged.

I am using a 650mah battery. I know it's low compared to what it could be. Does higher battery power enhance the taste of your liquid?

Also, I have noticed that certain flavored juices produce more vapor than others. Not sure why that is?

I suppose it could be possible that they forgot to add the flavoring to your juices.
And since the hubby said there was no taste I would say it is not the clearos or the battery that is the problem.

Different power out put will affect taste for certain flavors.

Different PG/VG ratios will affect vapor production and flavor. And that is probably why you notice some juices produce more or less vapor than others.
More PG usually = more TH and flavor
More VG = more vapor and sometimes less flavor.

It may be that after some steeping your new juices will begin to have flavor.
But I honestly think they just did not add the flavor for some reason they screwed up.

Have you actually put a drop on your finger and tasted it? Try that

I'm pretty sure I know the company you're speaking of, and I found their juices improved with some steep time (see the link in my sig for one steeping method - there are many!) Some people don't believe in steeping at all, and that's fine - it's what works for them. Me, I steep all of my "fresh" juices.

A more powerful battery *can* lead to increased flavor, but only if you can adjust the voltage/watts... has nothing to do with mah, which you can think of as your battery's "run time".

I just threw some steeped Shamrock Shake on an Ego with a regular clearomizer - good flavor, though not as intense as it is in my dripping atomizer on my MVP battery, where I can crank up the heat.

Hope that helps.

Hate to say this, but I found this with many, many suppliers.. Especially fruit flavors. Most are very, very light on actual flavor of any kind. I have a few I can recommend, but only one or 2 from each supplier..

Vaping is best when the you match the right voltage to the right atomizer coil. For starters, try a Vision Spinner. It's a low cost adjustable voltage battery with the standard 510 connection like you are already using. You can turn the voltage up and down to suit your vapor and flavor preference.

I find that the Aspire BDC CE5 and the Kanger Evod are good slim design clearos that produce great flavor. They both fit the eGo and 510 threads.

To solve the answer of flavor being added or not, just put a dab on your finger and taste it. If you can't taste flavor, then they didn't put any in. If it's weak, they didn't put enough in. What you taste with your tongue should be close to what you taste when you vape. If the flavor is okay on your finger, then a bit of experimenting with voltage/watts/coil or wick might be in order. But then, experimenting is half the fun of vaping anyway. :p

Somewhere out there
The "shamrock shake" gave away the company you're talking about. It is NOT your equipment. If you search the e-liquid sub-forum, you'll find many people think their flavors are too light. I thought their fruit flavors were rather light on taste myself, and I'm generally OK with light flavoring. I'm really enjoying their Baja Blast however.

Thanks everyone...I thought ingesting the juice was poisonous so I never thought of trying it. I did put a tiny drop of the cinnamon roll and the cherry on my tongue and I can taste them that way. Maybe they are just weak and I should order an extra flavor shot next time I order from them or someone else. And yes I thought that naming that one particular flavor would give away the company

Hi, I have had that same issue with quite a few companies and decided to make my own juices. I was tired of the inconsistenty in the juices. Doing it myself was a lot easier than I thought it would be and VERY cost effective! Now I make ALL my juices and blend flavors. I make it exactly the way I like it. Have you ever considered making your own.? For me, it was one of the best things I ever did. Now if I get a craving I can just whip it up the way I like and no waiting. I was tired of spending money on bad juices that I had to wait days for in the mail. I know doing it yourself isn't for everyone but if your interested you should check out the do it yourself sub forum here on ECF. I just thought I would bring this up as a alternative. Best wishes
