Wow! This will take some getting used to!

So, I've already done many newb things like overfilling a cart & tasting juice (my lips got a little numb), letting the cart get too dry and tasting nasty burnt...something. LOL

We got our's from libertyecig.com. Ordered them late Tuesday and they arrived today! 2 manual kits (I like that you can mix and match auto/manual and USB/AC chargers) 2 PCCs and 2 15ml juices for $168 and no shipping charge! (Can't believe I paid over $220 for just 2 basic starter kits & 6 carts we got at the fair booth!!) Just ordered 8 more juices, 4 menthol for the hubby (he's not into flavors just yet & his old carts were "mint" not menthol), 3 tobacco and one peach (my favorite flavor - hope it makes good smoke juice!)

One thing is that the juice carts (vs prefilled we had) are so strong! And not as sweet (which I liked it a little sweet.) I can really taste the PV. It actually makes me think of a nightclub and the fog machine. Is that bad for juice? Or is it just something I'm not used to? It also tastes a little "burnt" but at least the plastic "new" taste wore off. With the 510, compared to a Blu-type PV, should you not take long drags? I feel like something may be burning if I hold down the button too long -I'm used to an automatic.

I do have to say though - even though I got raked on the kits, my basic PV isn't too bad as far as vapor, battery and attie life. The carts sucked, though! (Pun intended, lol!) I wish I knew what model it was - I'd buy a few more addies and refillable carts for it as a spare!

Hmmm, what does a dry atty taste like? Check out this thread... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...7-what-do-you-think-dry-atty-tastes-like.html

Sometimes with the 510 (and other PVs) you can get little bits of the fiber stuck on the atty bridge and they can give off that burnt taste. I take one of those brush pick toothpicks and get those little buggers off.

Also, if you're not adding drops of juice to keep the cart moist you may have to set it down for a few minutes and allow time for juice to wick to the atty so it's not so dry.

Oh, and there is a list of models here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ion-newbies-pics-most-common-models-here.html. Maybe this can help you identify your other model. :)

Hopefully I've answered something in my ramblings.

Thanks, shiv. I did check out and post in the different model pics thread, but mine looks like 3 different models and no one had heard of the brand! :(

Mine had an exposed addie and I could clean it really easy - just blow on it or brish it off. Not used to a covered one - I was wondering about that! And I finally figured out that I'd need to keep adding juice. Big DUH for me, lol!

Now, any hints how to inhale without slurping the juice?? 8-o

There is a reservoir in the end of the 510 cart. If you overfilled the cart and sucked juice into your mouth I would bet that the reservoir if full of juice now. Pop the end cap off the cart and use a q-tip to remove the juice from reservoir. Put the cap back on and that should help. Remember to take slow easy drags off it because with the 510 manual you don't need to suck on it till your eyes pop out.:p
Does your 1st model of PV have the same battery connection as the 510? 510 battery connection is a female style.

Thanks, Hangtime! Yes, just noticed my first PV has the same female battery connection. The 510 atty fits it, but is different that the "coil" of the atty isn't exposed - it's recessed. My old PV has an exposed atty. Does that give you an idea what it is?

It looks pretty much like this when disassembled:
