I ordered a 510 for my sister in law last week from cignot, and now she's consistently getting a burnt taste from it.... even when it is loaded to the brim with juice

I'm going to take a look at it tommorrow, but my guess is A. She let it get too dry and burnt the wick or B. She let it get too dry and burnt the cart or filler and now the burnt taste is trapped in the cart

Its kind of perplexing because I have ran attys dry and got the burnt taste, but after loading them up they taste fine...

I'm not sure though really. When I was using a 510 I never had that problem because it worked like a champ. I think mine was some kind of clone 510 like an SLB or something, but I'm pretty sure the ones they sell at Cignot are Joyes. Correct me if I'm wrong. Not sure if it matters too much anyway.

It's strange because i bought a set of joye510's from cignot recently, and yes. i feel i get a lot of burning flavor.. i'm not sure exactly what it is. i'll get one good puff with some flavor, then it's just burning, really.. i thought i was just doing something wrong, but it cant be too hard to mess up something as simple as "fill cart to brim like a slushee and vape vape vape." I even refilled often.. maybe i vaped too much at once, and burnt something in the attys..?

It's easy to get the burnt flavor on a 510 atty. they get hot even at 3.7. It's a pain to clean them but depending on your cash flow it can be worth it.

boil in water, blow out and smell. If it still smells funky repeat until it doesn't. Hit it with a blowdryer, fill it up and see how it goes. If you still can't get the funk out of it then pull out the threads, they are probably nasty and burnt and not working anyway. After that if it still won't work (but is getting hot) remove the bridge and clean it again. It's now only good for dripping but it should taste fine.

ps. there is a good video on how to remove the bridge on here someplace but if you need help let me know.

Is her atty bridge getting too dry? A lot of times the cart filling doesnt make good bridge contact and the juice doesnt reach the bridge so you basically get a dry burn for a long time. This will kill an atty faster than anything. Also ruins the filaments in the bridge so they end up all yuk and burnt up.
One reason I stick to dripping - never had a burnt taste cos my atty stays wet, and I never worry about cart filling sliding down too far and not wicking juice up correctly.

You have to blow out new atomizers before using them. Some come with a primer liquid that tastes horrible. When the atomizer has no primer fluid in it whatsoever from blowing it out, you drip a few drops onto the wick and begin to vape. If it doesn't vape, add a couple more drops. It is easy to flood an atomizer though. If the button gets stuck or you have the device in your pocket and it goes off without you knowing it, it will burn the wicking material and every vape will taste burnt. If this happened it can be fixed but it is very difficult and takes time. I am not sure exactly how to get rid of it. I know you can do a dry burn after blowing it out and redripping onto the wick, but I think it has to be repeated multiple times before you use it to vape. The best tasting vape is removing the wicking material on a brand new atomizer and only using it for dripping. If you remove it then it will not work with a cartridge, but does wonders for dripping.
