Was at a college football game Saturday in a massive packed crowd. Felt something in my pocket region so I went through my pocket contents and my riva special edition was gone. Looked around but there was no way to tell who had taken it. Thief must have just seen a bit of shiny from my pocket (riva setup too long to 100% fit in pocket) and went for it.

Lucky for me I had my second riva SE with me so I could still vape, and that one is more valuable overall because it has a dripshield on it. Overall not a massive loss but annoying nonetheless, they probably didn't even know what they had taken.

Just ordered an EGO-T battery as a replacement.

This is the reason I take my rivas out and about and not my provari, losing my provari would have been devastating (as I could not afford another one).

It's a shame that people steal things that they have no use for. The guy probably chunked it into a trash can somewhere not knowing what the heck it was.

In our area, people have been stealing air conditioner units, taking them away and ripping the copper tubing out of the compressors. The people who have them stolen have a huge bill for a replacement and the guy who stole it sells the copper for $40.

There's also people with RFID detectors who can tell if you have a gas card or other card that can be used to pay with s simple pass in front of a detector. They pickpocket your wallet if the RFID detector goes off and run up gas station bills on your dime.

OMG! I could not even imagine losing my Provari, I would go directly to the stadium security and would insist each and every person in that stadium was searched thoroughly until it was found!

I am very sorry to hear about this, the Riva is definitely a decent PV to be sure. That is why I gave my Brother mine, because I know it will work and he enjoyed vaping on it.

The other morning, I was driving to work and thinking the steering felt a little rougher than usual.
I get out to check and see that the thievin' summ.....es have stolen ALL the lead balance weights off my truck wheels!
WTF?!

You mention this and just last week my neighbor got robbed. He was having remodeling work done on his house while he's at work, well it rained last week and his contractor didn't show up. However a group of thieves showed up with a work van and ended up ripping all the copper wiring out of the unfinished walls on the lower level of his home, along with any extraneous power tools left by the construction guys. None of the neighbors noticed the work van as odd since he'd had guys coming and going for the previous 2 weeks. He's out thousands of dollars in material and labor to replace it.

That's why I have a special wallet for any cards with an RFID chip (also can fit a passport--which the new ones also contain an RFID chip)

Unrelated to vaping but relevant to a thread discussing crimes... I'm supposed to live in a hoity-toity city but crime in my apartment complex has risen sharply over the past 2 years or so. Well, this weekend it was our turn. Someone stole a license plate off my vehicle, in broad daylight on a Saturday afternoon. Apparently they don't like California's license fees so they figured they'd steal mine, and it was quicker to unscrew two bolts and take the whole damn plate. So I'm having to deal with the police, and the DMV, in the same week. That's never fun. Only costs $19 to replace with sticker, but time and frustration of dealing with the DMV adds a zero or two to that. Oh, and yes I'm aware you can get plate-locking fixtures... I'll be buying some since apparently I now live in the ghetto. :| ::grumble:: On the bright side, it would've taken less time to key the vehicle and would've cost about $1,000 more, so... it was almost a considerate theif. :D (-- attempt to find a bright side.

EDIT: My vehicle was likely targeted because it was new as of the end of May, 2011, so it has lovely new May 2012 tags on... the most beneficial to steal in the complex parking area.

We had work done on our house a couple of years ago. We had a PVC fence put up around our front yard with 2 solar light caps on the gate. One morning, my husband was leaving for work and they were gone and our cars were keyed. We know the only reason for the keyed cars was because my husband had used silicone to keep the lights secure and the thieves were ...... that they were glued. We found broken pieces scattered in our flower beds and on the driveway near the cars. That same day, I ordered buzzers for my front and back yards. Now I know the moment someone steps onto my property. The buzzers go off and the dogs go crazy. The buzzers cost a lot more then replacing the light caps but it was nothing compared to piece of mind.
