Got promoted today

about 16 months ago I was in a bad way. I lost what was more or less my dream job as service manager at a diesel shop, and had been floating taking seasonal jobs and living off my savings. I tried to start my own business and got royally screwed by my partner. One day he just took every cent the business had made and disappeared. I ended up having to move back in with my folks when I broke up with my girlfriend. I couldn't stand being unemployed and broke, so I took a part time retail job just to pay the bills and keep busy.
This was seven months ago. Today I got the official news. I am now assistant store manager. Its not perfect, but it'll be nice to make a decent paycheck again. Hopefully it means more nice vape gear in my future. I just wanted to share

Congratulations. It takes a lot of stick-with-it-ness to excel in a position that one may not necessarily find ideal. Maybe more-so than it does to do well in a dream job. It is nice to hear some good news with all the negative stuff in the media these days.

Congratulations! I know what it's like being unemployed and living back at home. That's where I am at right now unfortunately. I have a couple health issues I need to get taken care of so I can get back on my feet again. Hopefully 2014 will be a better year than 2013 was.
