Got a few goodies today from Liberty-Flights.

1) Low resistance attys for the eGO. Holy smoke. Plumes of flavorful rich vapor. Just been using it for a few hours, meaning it's not even broken it yet, and I am very pleased. Couple of quick tips on this for fellow newbies:

- the LR atty is XL size so I needed XL blank carts. Wasn't crazy about the filler (felt like I wasting juice and not the best wicking) so I tossed it and used the blue filter mod. Now, these XL carts are tapered at the mouth piece, which I like, but it makes for an odd shape where the filler goes. I found that a regular cut piece of blue filter didn't fill the gaps, so I just cut it a little wider and then folded it in half lengthwise. Then inserted with tweezers. This fit the contour of the cart perfectly and filled the gaps in the notched grooves.

- BLOW OUT the atty before first use: These eGO products usually ship with factory filler which is quite unpleasant. Twist up a paper towel to fit down to the wick and blow hard several times. Keep repeating this on different clean spots of the paper towel until it blows dry. After that I recommend twisting another end of the paper towel, inserting to the wick and let it stand wick side down for awhile (overnight even) so capillary action aids in draining. These methods are useful in general maintenance of any atty when draining. No exception here.

-Be Patient: These wicks are large and thirsty so it could take many drops and puffs before you get a throat hit and flavor the first time. If dripping I would start with at least 4 drops directly on the wick. If carting, top it up and then let it stand battery side down for a bit. Be careful not to flood the atty though.

-If you are using a freshly loaded or topped up cart and you start getting dry hits, i find that if I rotate the mouthpiece 360 degrees and take a few short, sharp puffs with no power, I get it going again.

-this is an optional mod but it's something I picked up watching vids on atty maintenance. Carefully remove the threads from the atty. I just use a toothpick to gently coax out the threads from under the wick then pull out with tweezers. Be careful not to touch the sensitive coils all the way at the bottom of the atty. Check youtube for a how-to. Supposedly these threads are useless and just burn and add goo to the atty reducing performance.

Also got a new drip tip. I was using the metal ones and felt like I was getting a metallic sensation so tried the "delrin" type. Much happier with it. It warms a little with use and just feels better on the lips than the cold metal.

Sampled some new flavors in 5cc bottles and like them all:

1) Menthol Blend PG 18mg: Good menthol flavor, refreshing yet not overpowering with a hint of tobacco. Closest to an analog menthol that I have tried. The menthol dominates so I'd compare it to an old school "Kool" type cig if you ever tried one of those. *cough*. ;) This is much better than that though.

2) RY4 PG 24mg: I have tried a few of these from other sources and found them to be mostly nauseatingly rich and sweet. This one works for me...subtle, yet with all the type of flavor you would expect from an RY4. I generally am an 18mg guy, but like to keep 24mg on hand for those moments when I am craving analog.

3) RY4 VG 18mg: Same as above in a VG base. Rich plentiful vapor and more flavor..slight less throat hit being a VG but still good enough for me.

4) Silk Blend 18mg PG: Jury still out on this one. Don't hate it, there's some nice flavor in it, but haven't used it alone on a clean atty yet.

Very pleased with all of this and today is day 30 being analog free. Pretty much kicking my T-tank to the curb for now until I hear of a mod to get some flavor out of the darn thing. Until then they make spare batteries. :)

I was so frustrated with the tank and the standard cart filler last week that I was thinking that I coudn't hold out. The blue filter saved my .... and now the LR atty and the new flavors got me back on track for now.

Next on the wish list is an eGO USB passthrough. Maybe next week. Going to try the tea bag mod at some point as well.

Thanks for reading and hope this helps. Happy vaping!
