Hey David,
I saw the pre-lease of "Black Swan" and "The Fighter", both movies about people trying to make the grade. While Natalie Portman does her best in Black Swan, a stylish thriller, it becomes difficult to tell where reality and hallucination are different. It seems to have a lot of cheap thrills and not enough character development. "The Fighter" is a much better written script, and everybody does a good job. Of course, it's based on a true story so they could only mess with it so much. You will probably like it. The fighter's mom could sure use an ecig.

It's funny you mention that about the Black Swan as i was saying a similar complaint. It was too convenient how they could inter-twine reality with hallucination to make the plot what they wanted. Which i guess is the point of the movie, but i wasn't fully buying into it. I found myself saying, "now isn't that convenient".
I did see The Fighter. Though i enjoyed it because i'm a closet Mark Wahlberg fan, it didn't get me misty eyed or make me want to go out and kick some major .... but overall i really enjoyed it...
