So I got my beautiful Silver Vein Silver Bullet, and batteries for 6v vaping a couple days ago. I've been using a Riva with LR510s direct dripping for over 3 months. This was my first 6v experience and I'm having problems. So starting out with a brand new de-primered 510 from altsmoke I put in 4 drops and pressed the button expecting tons of vapor and TH. The thing acts like it's flooded and produces almost no vapor. I hit it again same thing. 3rd time to hit it sometimes I get a good hit. Lots of vapor and TH, but the 4th hit its little vapor and bad taste. This goes on for a while then the atty burps and an explosion of terrible hot gas erupts into my mouth. Seriously it's vile. The atty is dead. Sooo I try the 4 510s I used for a while on my Riva b4 I got the LR510s. These are already broken in. One of them seems to keep tripping and won't make vapor. The other two basically perform like the first one. One of them burps and goes out, the other burps and keeps going then burps again etc. And let me tell you the burps are just awful to experience, I've just put my SB down because it's just not worth it.

What am I doing wrong? Should I try cartomizers? Should I go for HV510s? It's like it's either flooded or it burps this foul gas. The rare times it actually hits right it's really nice, but if I can only get one good hit out of every 10 then it ain't worth it. I really don't think it's a problem with the device because of all the great reviews, but I just can't figure out what I could possibly be doing wrong. Help!!!

P.S. All the attys are regular resistance 510s from altsmoke.
3 pairs of tenergy 750mah 3v
BackwoodsBrew RY4 and 555 (if that matters)

I am replying not with an answer, but suffer the same blues - I found the answer as to what's happening.... Just after you take your batts off the charger, they actually are putting out maximum energy (makes sense I suppose) and that hits your coil of wire in your atomizer and blam fried. I just fried 3 attys myself today and having been burning juice since I got it - these are my first fried attys since I started too... :(

I think I'm going to investigate some HV Atty's and see if that does the trick. I love LOVE my 6V Mod, and am looking forward to a most excellent experience. I'll reply to this thread with what I get and how it works out, please do the same!! Oh and good luck!

Yeah Chad (the maker of the SB) told me to try out cartos, I believe they generally have a resistance of around 3.2 ohms as compared to normal 510 attys at 2.7-3.0. Hopefully that will work out better. He also said that the burping was a result of the juice boiling. I was using regular atties, Zen, because I've heard a lot of people say that they worked just fine. I guess it all depends on the quality of the nichrome wire used. I'm going to order some cartos from litecigusa because I have to stock back up on LR510s for my Riva. The LR510s there are really dependable and put out perfect vapor for 3.2v vaping. I will post back Matthew if I get those in before you discover a solution.

Zen - That was somewhat harsh, especially since directed at me ;) - Being blond I have some excuse, but obviously I did not expect a public frying or 3 happening today or wouldn't have tried it..... more than once.

Ah well such is life, a learning lesson, thanks for the suggestion on ValueVapor, they seem to be the only vendor in supply right now. :)

I don't mean to jump in here BUT, I have been doing some testing with HV Attys in the last couple of weeks, and Issacs new HV-801 Mini is an unbelievable Atty for HV, I put 2 x 3.7 AW 123A's in my Omega and put a 510-801 adapter on it and screwed on one of these Mini HV-801's to see if it could handle the 7.4v, not only could it handle it, but it wasn't the Hot 7.4v vape that you would think it was, not like the old HV901 @ 7.4V but a really nice vape, filled the Atty up to the bridge with liquid and was taking 2 second pulls, like 2 pulls for 2 sec each, Whoa, what a tremendous, flavorful vape, some more people need to give this a shot, it doesn't taste any warmer then 5v and puts out plumes of really flavorful clouds of vapor, it's worth giving this a shot folks

I beg to differ....his response was accurate and to the point; certainly not "harsh".

*Sigh* The Internet so has to invent voice toneicons, my post above should have had <whiney> </whiney> surrounding it, would have been more fitting, no? Come on HTML6!!

In all seriousness, I concur with both of your assessments - It just pains me to be called out for doing something dumb, that's all - happened a great deal as a kid, and I got flashbacks ;).

See if I understand this correctly.. we're going to take a SB, which has room for a cell with around 10WH of stored energy than can easily drive low resistance atomizers to the ~6-10W range with an estimated operating time (that's "trigger-on" time) of about an hour or more. We're going to take this device, and replace that very good method of storing energy with a pair of cells that have a combined total stored energy of about 1/5th as much as the one large cell. The total "on time" will drop to ~10-15 minutes, which translates to a much faster drop-off in vaping performance as the cells drain down, drive a 3 Ohm atty in the 5-12W range, or have to go up to a 4.5Ohm atty and operate in the 4-9W range.

I don't understand the logic here.... This makes no sense to me at all. On paper, an 18650 absolutely wins hands down. You can get just as many watts of vaping performance with substantially longer operating times.

All meant in jest, no worries at all - Placed my order with ValueVapor (gave your name that you use here Zen~ if they have any referral thing going), now to play my favorite game of all.... stalking my postman ;)

I don't get a kickback from them... I've purchased from them and got some great product at really fair prices and outstanding service so far.

Until a month ago I didn't know they existed, but one day I noticed another ECF guy (firhill) suggest them, and he always seemed like a prudent shopper with the suggestions he makes, so I checked them out. I'm glad I did!
