The local shop near my house hasn't been bad. Besides the outrageous prices, I've had overall good experiences. The staff were friendly and helped to answer any questions I had.

I've now moved on to buying almost all of my vape gear online though. And that's simply because of pricing. I'm not a "well to do" person by any stretch of the imagination, and I'm not going to spend 100 bucks for a cuboid that I can get online for 40. Nor can I afford to spend 19 dollars for a 30 ml bottle of juice. That's way more expensive then my smoking habit was, I go through 15 ml of juice in a day.

I did just visit another local shop today for the first time, since a friend gave me a discount card for their shop. Friendly staff there as well. We chatted about the gear they had in their shop for a good 20 minutes. When talking about the Clapton wire that they sold, one staff member even told me that I could get it cheaper online. I was surprised. Their prices actually seem much more reasonable than my other local shop too. Every Thursday they sell 100 ml bottles of juice for 20 bucks. So I'll probably be actually frequenting this shop
