So I hit up provape and got the provari mini starter kit, comes with two batteries. I got the 18490 extensions (whatever that means all I know is I have longer battery life) with the extension caps. Also got the aspire nautilus tank.

NOW, the reason I went with this APV is simple, I don't know anything about e vaping. I had a Halo Triton but it's not enough for me any more and I'm looking to branch out my horizons and explore more of this world. So, when looking for my next device I wanted something that would be simple but would also be far more efficient. I had the dough and sprung for the Provari Mini. Now I want to know where to go from here. One of the big issues I had with my Halo set up was constantly buying new tanks and coils. When I bought my Provari, I got the tank system right away because I already know it and I know that day 1 I can open up the box and start vaping. But I also know I've essentially set myself up for the same situation of more regular visits to a website to keep these tanks going.

So what should be my next atomizer? I can't do the rebuild able thing yet, as I'm not comfortable with measuring out resistance and stuff like that. Should I stay with the tank setup? Is there an easier way with less maintenance? Also, can someone point me in the direction of an easy to use atomizer for which I may begin to explore the wonderful world of dripping?

If you don't want to buy pre-built coil heads, you will have to rebuild them. There is no third option (not that I can think of).

So learn how to measure resistance, it's not that hard. Then get a rebuildable tank atomizer, a rebuildable dripping atomizer, some 28 AWG kanthal wire, and some Japanese or organic cotton.

Be prepared to vape on your clearomizer while you learn how to set up your rebuildable atomizers properly. This phase may last for five minutes, or it may take significantly longer.

Don't be too scared of doing it wrong: The Provari is a pretty safe device. If you build a coil with too low of a resistance, it will refuse to fire.

Just my 2 cents.

Really you've already got one of the best non-rebuildable tanks on the market. Just make sure you get the Bottom Vertical Coil (or BVC) heads as they perform worlds better than the stock Bottom Dual Coil (or BDC) heads.

If you're ready to take your first steps into rebuilding, then I would recommend a Kayfun Lite Plus. Easy to build, very forgiving, great vapor and flavor.

As far as dripping goes, well... The ProVari isn't exactly the best device for dripping, though it is possible to do so long as you build your coils no lower than 1 ohm. That's the lowest the ProVari will fire. It also has a 15 watt limit so with a 1 ohm coil you're going to be limited to 3.9 volts. I would start with an Igo-L to learn on. They're fairly cheap.

Don't think the provari fires sub ohm. Would rule out the atlantis/sub tank.

If you want to go down the rebuildable road get a magma and a lemo.
Aspire makes 1ohm coils for the Atlantis. My evic supreme has a .5ohm limmit and I use the .5 ohm coils just fine, I've used three of them and they have never read any less then .5, although one time it did read .6

Honestly if you are looking to drip you got the wrong device. The only dripper I would really recommend is a magma because it can work well with 1.1-4 ohm coils at low watts. Even then though you aren't really gonna be able to get all of the potential out of it. I would just stick to something like a kayfun lite plus with a 1.2 ohm coil. I'm gonna be real with you man, while the provari still gets tons of praise it really is kind of overpriced old tech. If you never wanna go below an ohm or above 15 watts I guess it is cool. But you can get the same level of customer service they provide from like all the good American VW/Vv makers now and they pretty much all use the far superior evolv dna30 chip at around the same price range with just as good safety features and double the wattage/much lower minimum resistance of .5ohms. It will be a good intro type device for you, but as you get more into rebuilding/ vaping in general don't be surprised if you are feeling the need to upgrade. By the time you want to do that we will probably already be on dna50 so it is not a bad thing at all, the dna40 out right now has a super steep learning curve so is say its probably a good thing to wait it out and learn about rebuilding in the first place on a provari/dna30 while other people work out all the kinks.

So I got my provari mini in the mail yesterday. At first, I wasn't blown away. I wasn't getting enormous clouds or anything and I didn't think the vapor production was all that much better than my halo Triton. At first :)

Well I had to mess with the airflow and the voltage a bit. For the record I'm finding a nice sweet spot for me at about 4.2 volts with the third biggest airflow opening. Also had to mess with the way I drew and took my hit. Anyway... holy crap now I get the fuss! WOW! I'm in vaping heaven blowing crazy clouds, getting a much cleaner taste and a much more satisfying vaping experience. This combo is incredible, man!

Keep in mind, you're not going to get the monster clouds you may see others get. If you want to start chasing clouds then you'll need a device that can push at least 30 watts and can fire sub ohm coils. The Provari wasn't built for this however. What the Provari was built for is reliability, durability and safety. The Provari was my first VV APV I ever purchased. I got it just over 3 years ago after falling head over heals into vaping. I used it is my main device for about 1 year and in that time, it was beat the hell up. It was inevitable that at least once a week, I'd leave it on my lap while in the car and forget it was there until I heard it hitting concrete while getting out of the car. Sometimes I'd even do it at work. In the Fire Engine, I'm sitting up about 7 feet so that's a long fall to concrete.

To this day, my Provari still works even though it looks like crap. BUT..........If you want to get into dripping and or sub-ohm vaping then the Provari is not going to cut it. Personally, I'll probably never buy another Tube for as long as I vape unless they get really small. I just prefer the Box form factor. If you want to start experimenting with sub ohm coils and such, I'd suggest picking up a X-Pro M50 for $48. It's a 50 watt box mod that just came out and I've been running it through it's paces for the last week. My conclusion on it is......For the money, you're not going to find something that compares in power, build quality and size.

Enjoy your Provari. I know I did.

Thanks, man. I'm very happy with it so far. Loving the adjustable airflow on the Nautilus too. That's a killer right there. Might have to re think my stance on looking for a different atomizer haha. The only problem is that the 12mg juice i was using is hitting me WAY harder now. While I'm on the topic can I just clean out the tank and swap out the juice? I know it wouldn't be a good idea to go with a different flavor but I can't see harm in using the same flavor just a strength lower, right? Or should I wait until I have to change out the coils? I kind of don't want to get used to this much nicotine though for an entire coil's worth of juice.

Absolutely you can clean the tank to swap out different flavors. You can also clean the coil by letting it soak in some vodka overnight. I just use a water rinse on a coil like that, let it dry overnight and then go again if it is not a drastic flavor change. If you are just changing nic and not flavor then no need to clean or change the coil imo. If you were changing flavors there are certain flavors that are about impossible to get out completely such as cinnamon, strong menthol, and a strong watermelon as examples.
