My first post and Hello to everyone. I started vaping because I broke 2 ribs from a smoker's cough. That was on 12/12/2011. I thought I had punctured my lung! I tried smoking for the 1st week after the break, but it was impossible, finally got an e-cig at a 24 hour gas station, it was a disposable for 9.99. Over the next few months I tried Trio 51, Blu, and Mistic. Worked my way up to V2 and KGo, and refilling with my own juice. Next try was with Ego tanks, then Ego with Stardust clearomizer. My current setup is the Ego Twist,3.2 with a Kanger T2 at 2.5ohm, and this is the best so far. My favorite flavors are fruits and chocolate and coffee types. I stopped all tobacco flavors early on, they were just awful after a while. Well that's my story, and I hope to learn even more. See you all on the ECF pages and Keep On vaping!

I always had a kind of tickle in my throat, and with that came uncontrollable coughing fits. They got worse over the last few years, and kept me from sleeping a lot. That morning I was on the computer early, and coughing. I felt something pop in my side, and a flash of heat, like someone had poured very hot water on my side, on my ribcage. I felt a moving sensation inside, kind of bubby feeling and thought I had punctured a lung. Hubby tried taking me to the hospital but the pain was excrutiating in our van, and bumps on the road, and we turned around and called an ambulance. They didn't find anything, and thought it was my heart, but it wasn't. I went to my Dr. the next day and he took X-rays and got me a brace. He called later and confirmed I had fractured #9 & 10 ribs on my left side. I still tried to smoke, with much agony, since it made me cough still. Coughing with broken ribs is horrible, let me tell you. On the 18th around 2:30 am I went to a 24-hr drugstore and got some cough medicine and on the way home stopped at a gas station and got my first e-cigarette. The rest is history, and I never smoked another paper cigarette after that. I don't have cravings and don't miss it at all. The nicotine addition is still there, but I'm told that there's nicotine in lots of other food items. Oh yes, the tickle in my throat is gone too.
Thanks everyone for the replies and welcome. I'm happy to be here and to be smoke free :)
