Is the airhole (of the vivi) on the threads (I think for version 1 and 2 it's like this)? If so, then your PV is obstructing the air flow when screwed on tightly

Or if the airhole is in the base of the tank (just below the cylinder)? Then the wick is too think. I've tried rebuilding it with 4 wicks, it's a very tight draw, I went back to using 1 or 2 wicks.

Having the same trouble with a Vivi Nova. It has vaped fine all week. Now the juice went yellow, the vapour tastes like ashtray, and the draw is tight. Had the same problem with Stardusts which is why I switched to VN. I was using the 2.4 long wick that came with the VN. Took it out, and now using the 1.8 short wick. Tried rinsing the long wick coil head with hot water and dry burning. Changed the juice. Nothing helped. Clearomizers are so frustrating!

Taste was initially nice, but now it tastes like ashtray and draw is slow. Using ego twist and 4v or less.

While using the vivi, just calm down lol. Let the atty do the work you dont have to suck hard at all. Just make enough airflow inside to make the coil fire hot and it will do all the work.

Also, Im wondering if vapor seeping into the tank causes the juice to turn colors and get thick? It does it more with certain heads I have ... I need to keep track of which heads do it and throw them away.

You are correct bmarley....

I have many VN's...large and mini....I went to town having some fun monkeying with a few to see just happens.

1st one...I drilled out the vents above the threads, the vents in the side of the main center pin (between the batt connector and the atty head in the tube)...and the top cone as you pointed out. The result....hehe...effortless draw....almost too free.

2nd one..I only drilled out the top cone of the pin in the head, (your circled item).....result....a nice comfortable draw...looser than a Phoenix even.

My findings are that the top cone in the atty head center pin is the problem....I have since cut off/drilled it out of the way on all my heads.

Instead of the shorty 510 adapter get one on of these. I have the VTube and it looks way better then the 510 adapter on a Vtube that is.

With the tight draw I'm thinking that its this part in the tube that is hindering air flow.

Your VN is different than mine. I have a ridge just above where your wicks are that keeps the plastic cap from going down too far. And the metal piece inside the cap doesn't have the tube center, Mine looks more like a lid for a jar, flat with a raised lip.
So, to make mine breathe easier, I enlarged the side holes at the 510 threads on the bottom of the tank, I drilled out the center pin on the atomizer head, the skinny part just came right off when I drilled,, and I pushed out the long center pin in the tank and enlarged the air flow hole. Easy peasy now. Somebody has a nice pictorial tutorial on this forum somewhere. You gotta dig for it.

This happens to me after a few days of vaping. When I first got my Vivi it worked fine than noticed a tight draw after a week or so. Afterwards I just took it apart and rinsed everything under hot water. Worked fine for another week or so now I have tight draw again, once tank is empty i'm gunna try the same thing to see if it helps.

The tight draw is the most limiting factor to an otherwise great tank. The more air that can go past a coil within reason, the more vapor you will get. It also helps keeping the coils from getting gunked up prematurely. I too believe it is the tiny holes in the atomizer itself. I don't like having to take long draws from a device, which is why I liked the XL cartos and such. I also found that restricted draw on such devices is what helps contribute to burnt hits.

It would be cool if they could make our hardware free flow and have an adjustable valve at the connector end to custom tailor the draw at the user preference. Say, like an air mixture needle valve that is found on a carburator on a gasoline engine.

ETA: On the VN I have, there is a tiny nipple (as in the circled photo above) on the atty head positive post that directs the air to the atomizer. I drilled mine out with the next size up drill bit to that hole with a pin vise. The nipple gets taken out in the process leaving just the main body of the connector. The air flow is better. I can see myself going up one more drill bit size to make the draw about perfect, but it is noticeably better with just one size up.

Seems alot of people are having similar issues with the vivi novas. I too have a vn v2 and vn mini. Used them both for around 5 days each on a epic storm or lavatube. They both worked fine when new but now a very tight draw , more like no draw when screwed down snug. Im finding dismantiling cleaning and replacing the head has no effect at all. the only way i can get the vns to work is screw it them on one ore two threads.... but on an ego battery they both work fine so an 510/510 adapter as suggested back a few posts will solve my problem. Thanks for the info.

You are correct, it is that part, on over 20 that I have checked the center hole is 1mm and after a few days many juices coagulate like it does sometimes in the drip tip. I have drilled all mine to 1.5mm and clean the hole on each re wicking. This is the last hole the air goes thru to the coil, so no matter how big you make all the other holes this one will still restrict the air.

I had the same problem on my Vivi Nova after a few weeks of Vaping... After reading this I tried something... I took the top off the Viva Nova head, put my mouth over the tank and blew like the dickens... Had to clean juice out of my sealed battery afterwards, but it's hitting like new again...
